And instead of using Apollo and Rocky as examples, they would use goku and vegeta but the same speech going like this. “How it goku defeat buu? Did he do it alone? No. He and Vegeta had to work together. Even though he had all that history, even though there complete opposites, they made it work and it was only because someone had to reach out first. And that was Goku.

It's a funny scene and I'm really glad they became co-workers and friends but Mr. Miyago's way of teaching, which goes back to the very origins of the art's formation and purpose, is the better approach.

If i was going to train 2 halfs of a dojo using 2 different forms, I'd probably devide the dojo in such a way as to teach a base of physical conditioning, common technique and standard application via simple sparring. And an advanced group where kata unique to each disciplines is taught out of context to the more practiced students and quize them on their thoughts about each technique. Then, i'd have the advanced group spar using everything they've learned and take notes to see what works then create a new synthesis of each form before feeding that back into a standard training regimen 🤔. Philosophically i'd create a clear devide between offensive and defensive schools under a doctrine of intelligent decisions making that outlines when and how to apply each school then teach that as part of the basic class. Might even cook up some techniques in the process that way aswell.

Dude Hawk was starting a road of repenting. Daniel has every right to lash out at him, the guy broke into his house, vandalised his dojo and stole his mentor’s medal of honour.
