I hope this video can bring you closer to what makes Daniel such a special artist. Let me know if anything he says strikes with you/your journey particularly.
When he speaks on the third person perspective, looking down on himself and analysing his actions from above- that hits for me. As artists/creators, we live inside our heads a lot, and the very nature of the work, seeing ideas in your head as real and solid things, is overwhelmingly positive, but can lead to a little distancing from the shared reality sometimes. With an understanding of that, it doesn’t have to be a huge thing for me personally. But hearing that experience shared is always good.

“I knew I wasn’t going to be doing this forever . It was a part of the process.” Felt this. Literally what I remind myself daily. As a comedian he’s so right about vulnerability and how it does come at a price. Your privacy and your shit just being out there but it’s powerful at the same time. It’s freedom.

Born & raised in New Jersey, After my mom got deported & my dad cut off his ankle bracelet I.C.E used to follow me around I was 15 years old scared beyond what you can think but that turned around when I knew they couldn’t touch me Every time I saw them it was middle fingers up add tears & a verbal FUCK YOU FOR TAKING MY PARENTS AWAY After my parents were gone I spent a lot of birthdays and holidays alone I was with strangers but I didn’t have my home anymore I cried so much & I still do. My best friend got shot in front of my eyes It’s pain you can’t forget but learn to live with I feel like I have been fighting for air for so long I was thrown in a fire I wasn’t prepared for And I’m still learning how to be a man I was paying bills & worrying about food while you were sitting in class or having dinner at home Im not comparing but I say that with pride & courage because I raised MYSELF I gave MYSELF principals I gave myself a lot of care during times I was very hard on myself & it wasn’t my fault, I realized it was just the system I am in. I wrote a book about my life, small or big you will relate. There’s poetry, pain & wisdom. Please check my profile I’m hungry but not the stomach kind.
