I sang Opera for 8 years when I was younger and they teach you posture and to tighten those pectoral muscles as tight as you can and keep your chest out and constantly put pressure on your abdomen when you're doing these notes it's very tough to control and it takes probably two to three years to get control over your stomach muscles even to this day I find myself standing tightening up my pics and I'm 60 years old now
I bet she got all dislikes from her neighborhood because they have to hear the whole process while she's practicing this complicate aria 😂 anyway she's amazing!!
Hi there. Thanks for your comments. I'm really inspired and am starting to record my most recent students. Lots of new videos to come. It is always an exploration and a journey and I truly thank you for your interest. Best, Dan
How would a guy go about learning this range, please? I can sing Alto with ease, and kind of creep up into the Mezzo range as well- (both using Falsetto, and I've got videos on my channel to prove it- my highest Falsetto note's A5.) I've heard blokes sing in the Soprano range though, and I'd love to be able to do it, myself. I just don't know how at the minute. Please can I have some tips? Much obliged. Peace and love.
You can't just 'learn' it. I've never heard a male singer who can sing coloratura soprano like this (most women can't either because their voices aren't as high as this). You naturally need suitable vocal chords for it, and going through male puberty won't help with that. Why not just enjoy the range you have, highness isn't everything.
Actually, I can sing in the Alto range with ease, and I even dip into the Mezzo-soprano range on many songs. I perform a lot of female covers on here, as well as blokes' ones. I also sing in with the mid-range women in my choir, 'cos I prefer singing in Falsetto than what I do in full-voice. My highest Falsetto note is around G5 / A5, but Mezzo's as high as I can get though, and I've always wanted to be able to sing as a Soprano as well. I'm naturally a high Baritone.
Having listened to this girl's range again though, I think I might have to be happy with being able to sing as a Mezzo- (after all, I guess there ain't even that many blokes who can do that!) o.o
Cockney Rebel Yes, I know, you said. That's nice but not super unusual. But you can't just 'learn' to make your voice into a different range that you like the sound of, we are what we are. You can learn to support your sound better and make it blend better at the passage points, and maybe go a little higher or lower, but you probably can't go from being a male alto who can hit around a G or A to being a coloratura soprano who can hit notes almost an octave above. It's just nature... Maybe you can and have a freakishly unusual voice, but I would doubt it. It might be possible to learn to make small sounds that high in whistle tone, but you wouldn't be able to sing coloratura soprano arias and sound nice.
This is my favorite warm up to do at home; it's the best one I've found so far on youtube for sopranos that doesn't contain scads of talking instruction (we experienced singers don't really need to hear that). Thanks! I've been using this daily
I disagree. This "Tactic" is, COULD, only be of any possible value for voices which have already been excellently developed for "undreamable" EFFORTLESSNESS, and, then, have developed their their range, "beyond phenomrnally", semitone by semitone, with more and more inconceivable, EFFORTLESSNESS!!!! Nevertheless, I will always be uncon- fortable "testing" for one's high notes for the day, or worse, just before an actual performance. This, WILL damage the Vocal Cords' ability to have, and keep, an EFFORTLESS, FRESH Tone Centerdness, and, LONG- LONG LASTING---- BEAUTY AND, HEALTH for ---- ANY---- Voice, especially, and, MERCIFULLY, for anyone who wants, deperately, to have a Great Voice, but, TEARFULLY, DOESN'T HAVE ONE!!!! For me effortlessness and extreme health and freshness ofbthe Vocal Cords themselves are EVERYTHING!
Hey! I was wondering how the student got this brilliant vibrato? it sounds quite powerful and clear. I'm struggling to get vibrato in my voice and I'd really like to know if there are exercises I can do in order to develop a powerful vibrato... Mine seems so shaky and i can't keep it longer than several seconds... it would be so nice if you could help me!
You have a marvelous instrument all I would advise is your posture. If you stand taller everything will click and lineup even more! Good luck on your studies!
Pasunsoprano yes she can it’s called posture and her’s is awful. You can elongate the spine simply by holding yourself in the proper way. It also adds about an inch and a half to your Overall height.
In the scales she went to a top G above high C - can you do that without sounding a little 'screechy'...?? Plus she's a coloratura soprano and they're meant to have a light, agile sound, not a big, full, rounded one, if that's what you mean by 'operatic'.
I know this is an old video but I actually use this video to help me with my legato and range. I'm confused with my vocal category as my range as of now is rather vast, however, I'm considering I'm a higher mezzo-soprano (Range F3-E6 with certain exercises can reach an F#6). I don't have a ton of flexibility in my voice as I grew up with a heavy rock background and now I'm in love with classical and this has helped my agility, flexibility, and I just love this video! Thank you!
Daniel!! Estoy realmente inspirada y motivada con este video, sobre todo con el trabajo que haces.. sigue adelante!!! Brillante soprano, muy afinada, con una vos muy angelical.El aria que canto le queda muy bien!! Saludos!
I love this warm up! I am a musical theater performer and use this everyday before my shows along with a few other excerises. Thank you so so much this! it's so convenient to just turn on and warm up!
I am new to *proper* singing. Been singing since I was little but only started to take it seriously when I got into college. I did choir for a short bit in college and was the only inexperienced one there. I was put in the soprano section. Here is my question. This girl is a soprano, but I have a hard time singing the lower register she's singing, and the high register she's singing feels natural and easy. So what the heck does that make me? O.O
Honestly, that takes time, technique, and a good teacher. For the longest time I thought I was a soprano; I struggled with anything below a C4 (middle C on the piano or the C below the staff) and I could only vocalize up to a C6. I’ve discovered in just a few months with my professor at uni that I’m actually a mezzo-soprano. And now, after her help a lot of practice, she has me vocalizing from Ab3 (below the staff) to a secure F6 on a regular basis. I’ve still got a long way to go before I’d even consider singing a C6 (or higher) outside of a practice room, but it is amazing what you discover with the right teacher and a little work.
Just means your range is a bit smaller than hers. No biggie. You just need practice. I used to be the same. Then I got training and learned to use my voice properly
I love how he makes it a point to focus on the forward motion from the mask! He is a very intelligent teacher and his students are equally intelligent vocalists!
Amazing. So what happened to this young lady, is she already performing in public? The book on her head transformed the quality of the voice, like a tweak to an audiophile... LOL Enjoyed this, eye opening to a soprano's training, or rather ear opening....
I’m a vocal teacher. Head voice IS part of the natural voice. It’s only you tube culture that thinks otherwise. Chest AND head voice must be mastered one is not better than the other. If you develop and truly master the head voice it can sound marvellous, versatile, agile and strong 💪🏻.
I love this practice..do it regulary..the excercises I get through except the highest note.. don't know that song but i work along but there r 2-3 notes she's hitting I can't touch..& what a marvelous voice she has..she should enter one of the televised vocal shows..I'm hoping u've added more lessons as u didn't have many last I ckd & the tenor lessons we're to easy..I am a baritone but have a very high range.. typically do soprano excercises .thanks for this video & bring more please
Thanks for the comments! I have recently uploaded lots of new videos and more to come. I had new baritone and tenor warmups if you look on my channel. All the best!
Super..I've seen them & I'm going through them..mostly the sopra o & mezzo soprano..ones I find useful & challenging r going into my extreme advanced workouts..I am planning to enter some contests next year & your excercises will surely help..as it comes closer I may seek u out for some Skype/FaceTime help..so far I've hit a plateau at Bb-B4 chest & still stuck at Bb-B5 in mix..plus my transition between the 2 is to abrupt & noticible & needs to smooth out.. fortunately karaoke has opened back up so I can work my tough songs in public..thanks for sharing your content for free
Still work on this but as u stated..u have many more work outs that I do regularly..I have found that laryngeal tilt excersizes seem to help w my range the most.. got a cold a cpl months ago that affected my excercize routine.. didn't feel like exercizing so my range has suffered a bit..I'm back in routine & close to my original range..still looking for C5 in chest & C6 in mix
i finally found this kind of warm up voice lesson for soprano coz i really wan't to improved my voice,im a soprano and im a choir member so that's why i search this kind of voice lesson thank you so much😊😊😊

@@chloel.8007 *Brilliant!!* Thanks so much 🍒 And the last week my teacher did the Farinelli with us; again raising arms ... but she didn't explain it as well as you did! 🤓
Carnival of Venice, you can find clips of Toti dal Monte and other sopranos from the 30s and 40s singing it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fwMcWp806dE.html
I've been looking for a warm up like this, im a tenor/countertenor and the first 4 minutes were absolute magic for my voice! The rest I still have to learn.. Thank you!
I have been studying voice for many years. She seems very sweet and has potential but, it might be good to work on your posture. I find it very interesting that she is singing with her natural voice instead of her head voice. That would explain the tendency to "screeching" on the higher notes and most of the slurred notes.
Through practice and also just finding you on you tube and by the way I think you are a great teacher. I am finding that I am somewhat a bass ,alto ,and soprano what would you call this Sir. Thank you for your upload
Wow, I truly enjoyed this warm up. The young lady has an incredible voice, and I had fun listening ti her and all her trilling! A unique pleasure, thank you.
Un grand merci pour cette vidéo. c'est très difficile de trouver des vidéos ou je peux mois aussi (je suis un homme) faire des exercices vocaux soprano. merci beaucoup et bravo à vous deux....
