Jon Jones made a career out of steroids, fighting 30 YO's and gifted decisions. If this dude has any substance whatsoever (pun intended), he would go ahead and fight a young up and comer like Tom. Also, DC did what he did in two divisions with no steroids, no PEDs and legitimate wins.

Aspinall has a better championship win in short notice Pavlovich than Jones in Gane. 3. EVERY champion in the history of the UFC had to fight their interim champion. Why didn’t Khabib sit out and wait for Tony when Dustin became interim champion? 4. Aspinall would be the absolute worst matchup in Jon’s career. He has always had a clear advantage over his opponents. Aspinall is bigger and is more well rounded, it would clearly be the best win of his career. Especially after being gifted that bullshit decision over Reyes. 5. Jon is a dirty cheat and the most protected fighter in UFC history. He definitely is blatantly ducking. 6. DC get off your high horse. DC was absolutely on PEDs as well for the Jones fight, because his testosterone was so high that it could’ve only come from some sort of enhancement.

Bottom line - both times after Jones faced DC, DC wound up as champion. And DC made other guys champions, too - being a double Champ AND a Champ-maker? DC is just on another level in so many ways...

Watched ur stipe fights recently. U won the first one in great fashion, holding his hands to negate his reach and boxing with him. In my opinion, you knocked him out by mixing it up and letting an elbow go. In the second fight, you fought similar to the first. You threw no elbows though, why was this? You happened to get knocked out in a sequence, but the fight was close either way. In the third fight though, in my opinion your heart wasnt in it. You fought completely different to the first two, no hand grappling with Stipe to negate his boxing and reach advantage. Just boxing really. Why was this? You werent the same fighter in this one. Either way, i thought you did an excellent job overcoming the reach advantage in the first two. I think it was a really smart approach.

Jones is definitely ducking Tom. He knows Aspinall is big enough and skilled enough to nullify his grappling and be a REAL problem on the feet with the hand speed and the power. Aspinall by KO and Jones knows that.

I don’t think Jon Jones needs to prove anything at this point. But if he beats Stipe and doesn’t retire, then Aspinall deserves the next fight. If Jones retains the belt and moves on to Pereira, would they just vacate the interim title without Tom losing? How is that fair? Tom didn’t go to the UFC and tell them to have an interim match. He did what they asked him to do. Jon Jones doesn’t owe Tom anything, but the UFC does. They need to make sure Tom gets what is owed to him.

One of the issues with the HW division is it has ALWAYS been thin and the belt has often gone long stretches with no defense. So that doesn't bother me much. I don't blame Jon for wanting to do what he signed up for. He's also earned the right (in the ring) to pick and choose some fights here at the end of his career. There will ALWAYS be another next, greatest, biggest, threat to Jones and because Jones is a terrible person people want to see him lose. I think people need to watch that Gane fight again though. Jon wasn't scared of his striking. He put Gane in bad positions with footwork etc. at every step from the bell. I say that because I seriously don't think he's scared of Aspinall either. I think he sees the biggest paydays with the least risk and that's his priority now. He's slayed dragons for a fighting lifetime at this point. There's nothing left for him to really prove other than he can beat the greatest HW that has ever done it. If he decides to fight again I think the fight with Alex will sell way better than a guy nobody but the die hard fans know about. Aspinall may turn out to be the next greatest but Jones doesn't owe him that and the UFC is a business first... always has been always will be.
