Yeah I got mixed up and we do call Canada Day by its name here, it's May 25th that we "celebrate" for a different reason. Everywhere else in Canada, it's a federal holiday to celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday. In Québec, it's the Journée nationale des Patriotes, which celebrates the Lower Canada Rebellion in the 19th century. But yeah Canada Day is Canada Day, people here just aren't very patriotic about Canada. I can't believe I mixed that up. Not having a job will do that, I guess, since there's less of a good reason to pay attention to federal holidays. There were more Canadian flags around during the pandemic because it became a symbol for people who opposed the sanitary measures, but that has died down. June 24th, which is Québec's national holiday, is a big deal, though.
