Nice video Luke. Have you tried closing the strap like a parcel? I.e. vertical horizontal cross over. Might help flatten the bulge and provide a little extra safety of watches sliding out the top.
I think, if you roll the other side over, so it keeps your watch from sliding out, then it would make the watch roll more even and protect the watch better. train the leather with it empty. leave it rolled up for a bit and I think you will like it better. Dont take the flap side all the way down, just fold until it meets or almost meets the other flap that has been sewn. Try it and it might work better. Good luck. And that is the best idea yet. Too bad he didn't see your comment. I would buy one today just because I know your idea is viable. With a straight edge and some kind of leather scoring tool, it would be possible to trench in a couple of relief cuts, inside of course. That would make the new flap bend where it was decided you wanted it... If that makes sense. My wife has tons of leather crafting tools... 🤔 Hmm. Happy watching.
I have the same one in Olive. I feel Olive goes better with my waxed cotton Jackets. I didn't know that's the one Craig used. I like it a bunch. A very cool and easy way to travel with your watches. Mine doesn't leave those residue flecks. It's pretty soft and wont scratch any parts. I'm not traveling with it, I use it to store my Quartz watches. I store my automatics on winders.
I agree that this product is competitively priced. Personally, I wouldn't use an item like this because it doesn't protect the objects stored from the shock of dropping it should an accident happen. I have a watch roll by Wolf that offers better protection.
How do you know that this watch roll on Amazon is the same one he has? Does he say in the video that he bought his off Amazon? There are a lot of knock offs out there. This watch roll may be made of leather but it does not look to protect watches very well. This is not a watch roll I would put any of my watches in, that's for sure.
It's a poor design. Once you've placed the watches in the pouches you should be able to fold the other side over to stop them slipping out but the tie cord needs to be attached half way along the pouch length(so at the quarter length point). Ideally the pockets should be able to accomodate the entire length of the watch and you should stagger where the watch heads are.
