I liked Daniel's version very much but, in truth, it didn't have the emotional impact on me that I feel when I listen to Itzhak Perlman's performance of this masterpiece.

indeed. Daniel Hope is good, yes, but Itzhak Perlman has the talent to bring real emotions into his tone. Examples are (of course) Schindlers List and (damdamdaaam) the "Scottish Fantasy" from Max Bruch, played by the Itzhak Perlman and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. So totally awesome.

itzhak perlman is really good, but the only reason he is famous is because he had the right connections. there are people out there the arent well known that would wipe the floor with him

Agree, Cloe Handlip is more paced, emotional, deliberative on the interpretation. never the less, Dan is very good- also violin tone is not as deep as on Chloe's.

Beautifully played - never heard it played so effortlessly and smoothly. My only criticism is it all seem rather rushed - a little more Sostenuto perhaps!

sick puppies. can't u just focus on the music part and not all the hate that goes on all over, he plays beautifull, but perlman is much better to my ears. i prefer perlman over him. perlman has much more emotions, plays it slower, and just expresses his feelings with every note he is just talking with his violin, like giora feidman with clarinet.

for my taste, this is played a lot too fast. i too prefer other interpretations played with other instruments, especially the guitar covers

Maria Furtwängler macht diesen Job viel besser als Thomas Gottschalk. Ich verstehe nicht, weshalb beim neuen Preis wieder Gottschalk die Ansagen machen durfte?

This rendition of Schindlers List Chloe has no understanding of this piece.Fast bowing, inaccurate phrasing, sparing use of vibrato but no semi staccato type phrase end notes. Just in a hurry !

Itzhak Perlman plays two eternities better than Hope, even though Itzhak plays faster he produces a more passionate feeling.. :)
