I love them and miss them together so much. I was around 7 or 8 when I heard Anthem For The Year 2000 for the first time and I remember falling in love with them instantly. I rediscovered them a few months ago when I needed it the most and let me tell you that Neon Ballroom literally saved me. Indeed, most of the songs on this record are pretty depressing but somehow listening to them didn’t make me more depressed, they actually helped me get better because I realized I wasn’t the only one who could have shit going on. Thank you so much Silverchair, you will always be my favourite band 💜
I wish this was released. I traveled around the US seeing them during this tour in 2007. I remember seeing the footage being filmed for this, would've been nice to see it all again.
I would say doing a kickstarter would be a good way for them to work out if there is enough interest to make it. Most fans don't know it's even a possibility.
This film clip shows just how and why silverchair are no more. This makes me truly sad. No one should take over three years to complete an album. I felt like that alone with trying to salvage their career by constantly trying to prove that they're not the kids of Frogstomp and Freakshow finally took a toll on them immensely.
NO ONE expected them to stay teenagers forever, but DAMN, what they did with their sound wasn’t evolution, evolution is gradual, they did a 180, what did they expect in America? We liked our hard rock chair! There are bands, Foo fighters for example, that have rocked for 20+ years and we love them still, and guess what, they are 50 now!
I don’t know WHY THE FUCK Daniel was so hell bent on running SO far away from what made them known and adored in the first place? It’s like he was subconsciously hell bent on running silverchair into a brick wall….he hated fame but has worked to try to remain famous, like make a choice man….it’s maddening.
Damn. I was so happy wenn I saw this. They have the stuff - so why not use it? Make a low budget cut, let a trainee do the cut or give it to me ^^. or release just the uncut interviews (or sell it on itunes) I want to see the whole thing
I'm so thankful that I came upon this comment. I was trying to find the doc. Thank you so much for sharing! I really love this Silverchair & Daniel Johns as well. He seems to be such a unique artist/individual
Me looking at this fine thing thinking I’ll someday open that box and watch this documentary : 🤗🤗😃😆 Me reading and discovering it’s fucking swept away : 👁👄👁👀😰😰😓
No one said anything useful about this video. It IS a real documentary. The BIG issues are budget and permission from band management. Also, it seems that most of Oz lost interest in Chair because the boards at the Chairpage consist of mostly, if not only, North American continent residents. Hence, this may never see the light of day, which is why Hackett Films took it off of their site. Now, with all the fans there are, and footage available, how about a fan made project???
Yes, by Hackett Films. This is the making off young modern. I don't know if it's for sale. The digipak with the bonus dvd was a limited edition. I can rip and post someday.
We want Silverchair not only Daniel Jahns! The old band with Chris and Ben, do you hear me? I like Daniel but now without other boys, Daniel is nothing special to me.
Yep, it's true... I grew up in newcastle, around these guys... Unless you know, don't comment... He's a self obsessed strange little person, he has tried to take so much of the fame, and did nothing to get silver chair started in the first place... He would go over and over shit until he and only he was happy with it...! He's a pro at power cords and that's about as good as his guitar playing gets... Thank god they are finally over...
He should make a punk record like actual punk rock music without any of that terrible falsetto. No one wants to hear that Mickey Mouse squeaking. My boy was telling me he liked Talk, I was like you must be out of your mind. He smokes a ton of weed though and has like no testosterone in him left
