Thank you, Dr. Judd! My soon-to-be-husband and I took your eternal families class together, and I had no idea that just 4 or so years later, I would struggle intensely with mental illness. I appreciate you educating about this topic.

I have served my mission under president Judd and I have been struggling with psycho-Sofia disbality after wards. Though time I have find a path where I can use Councling and my faith to my healing process. It has been very fruitful. Most think that mental illness come from lack of faith. I have found a away to use my careful study of scriptures and prayer with my meds and Councling with journal. At times I struggle but its a journey and it takes commitment and lots of patience. Thank you so much for clarifying this mostly misunderstood concept or thinking.

As he said, the combination of a supportive family, inspired leaders, good friends, skilled physicians, competant counsellors, etc, can be very rare to have all of those.. And lucky if you have even one of those supportive individuals. Skilled physicians are easier to find, but if you have a condition that is difficult, and your friend or parent does not have the same, they really don't have much of a clue in how to support you. A good support group or a person who has the same condition is much more supportive and understanding. A good therapist can be supportive as well. Otherwise, having mental illnesses can be very lonely. unfortunately there are many years of hard work put in to understand and learn coping strategies to deal with not only the illness, but in dealing with the lack of understanding and support by many (even other LDS) who carry the stigma and lack of knowledge, and judge people as if the sufferer has character flaws. But it's great to have the opportunity to learn how to turn the other cheek and to become strong in being able to forgive others.

Besides type-2diabetes memory loss due to Alzheimer's and schizophrenia and severe depression and severe anxiety I'm also battling nightophobia. Good 👍🙂😆🙂😎🆒🤗🙏☮️🕊️🕉️🏳️😊 talks such as this one 🕐🕜 help me to keep it controlled 🎛️🛂🎮. Thanks 🙏☮️🕊️🕉️🏳️😊👍.

What would Jesus do? Would he say people are ignorant, sinning or causing problems in their family by trusting too much in Him? Where in the scriptures does it say that Pharmakia (Greek for sorcery) is part of the Gospel? Is it Christlike to shame people that give their minds & hearts entirely over to the healing power of Christ? Just curious about the part of Christ’s ministry that leads one to believe that not trusting in the arm of flesh is “magical thinking”

I don’t think the speaker is saying that relying too much in the Lord is a sin.. He’s saying how complete healing can truly work. The point is faith in Christ must always be combined with work to be able to take effect... as stated in James 2:17, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

@@wiselivingph9371 - miracles and spiritual gifts played an essential role in God's plan. We must appreciate and understand that role. The miraculous powers were essential to reveal the word of God, record it in the Scriptures, and confirm it to be God's will. We need to respect and appreciate that message. However, when the message was completed, the gifts were no longer needed, so they ceased. To believe otherwise is to misunderstand God's will and show a lack of respect for Scripture. Many false doctrines have been believed and practiced as a result. Are you saved? Please examine yourself if you are saved or not! Did you know that Heaven is a free gift from God? Billions of people go to bed every night wondering if they have been “good enough” to go to heaven. There is no need to live in fear and doubt. Jesus taught that you can “know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” There are many passages in the Bible that teach the truth about Heaven being a free gift from God because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, not by our own good works. One of the most clear and important passages is from the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesians: Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Most people think that Heaven is a riddle which can never be solved. This is not true! The Bible is very clear about how you get to Heaven, and how it comes by faith in Jesus Christ, not by trusting in our own good works. We are living in the dispensation of the grace of God, by believing and trusting the gospel of salvation (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) given to our Apostle Paul by Jesus Christ you are saved and sealed with the holy Spirit of promise till the day of redemption!!! Ephesians 1:13 - King James Version 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Romans 2:16 - King James Version 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
