I met Daniel Matt and had the honor of studying passages of Torah and Zohar with him at the JCC in NYC. To thank him I taught him a meditation on the 4 letter name of HaShem and walked him through it so that he would see Tor-ah the Dove f. The Holy Shekinah emerge from the mist to hover at the 3rd eye. When used before daily I knew She would support his work. I knew She would Over Light him to guide him deeper into Zohar. The first passage Daniel Matt read regarding the emergence of the spark lighting the dark ocean of Ein Sof may be witnessed meditating on the Ayin Nun Vav name of G*d.

So after all that work he looks it over and concludes that it is an amazing take on Jewish beliefs and knowledge with incredible insights on scriptural passages but that now what it needs is to be changed in order to fit his own belief set. This is the intellectual downfall of all scholars who work without revelation/inspiration. Society without God is accomplishing the same "cleansing", changing everything they don't understand to meet their own low bar of accomplishability. Leave it as is until you grow up. The things you don't like about it, or are confused about, are those things that point out to you the incorrect basic assumptions you made in the beginning of your understanding. If you decide to throw them out because you think they are wrong you will never achieve the higher levels of understanding because you will always end up at the limit of your ignorance. If the Zohar is not an inspired work you wasted your life and attempting to change it in order to make it something worthwhile is a further waste, just becoming another philosophy of man mingled with scripture. If it's inspired then leave it alone, as any meddling will only serve to dilute its power to show people how to grow closer to God.

I‘m sorry dear ones, the totality of Zohar can’t be the deep spiritually according to what was revealed from HaShem to Moses and his teaching. ~ One warning sign is the mystic spirituality that seem to play into the hands of the N T Paul and his secret message based on his revelations. ~ The Catholic Church and Islam have been influenced by similar ideas from their mystics. ~ New Age cults are involved in the same kind of spirituality. ~ so, no thank you!
