Antifreeze crystallizes in your liver. Someone I went to school with died from accidentally drinking some; her cousin suffered brain damage. He is so lucky that he just got sick from it. That is horrifying. 😬
Just to clarify in case you don't know, there are different grades of antifreeze. In the USA, pink antifreeze is used in RV's and is totally non-toxic. The typical yellow-green antifreeze from older model vehicles(typically) is the sweet-tasting, death brew that most are familiar with. My guess is he drank a non or less toxic version of what you are thinking of. If he had drank the standard antifreeze, he would not have been able to recover in 3 days - let alone survive without medical treatment. An amount equal to what he drank would have killed just about anything .1/3 of a cup or 80ml is considered a lethal dose if consumed orally at one time.
JHC.. he was lucky.. but what a stupid thing for people to put antifreeze into the water someone might drink without any notice.. sign? tell him? he could have died..
Yeah I work in veterinary medicine and we unfortunately will get an occasional antifreeze toxicity because pets will get into it and drink it since it’s sweet tasting and they don’t know any better.
He is nothing but amazing, the people who are saying that JK Rowling made him famous should grow up already. He made himself famous with his acting talents and initiative just like any other actor and actress. God bless Mr Radcliffe and his HP success :)
I remember, when I took my driving lessons, in medical we learned that if you ever drink anti-freeze that you should drink hard liquour (like whiskey or some spirit).
My vet helped me save my dog's life (by phone). He said that the hard liquor would beat the antifreeze to the liver, even though the antifreeze had already been consumed. The antifreeze would then just pass on through while liver was engaged with the alcohol. I used a large syringe and squirted it down her throat. Poor dog couldn't walk and legs went every which way and she immediately had diarrhea. The neighbor had been flushing their radiator onto the street and it ran down the gutter to our house where it pooled. Luckily saw it happen. She lived for another decade.
@@averywelche1122 wohooo u know what i was wondering what if dog had it by accident and here ur comment was, thanks to the original comment and urs too..i have dogs so I was worried lol...thanku so much. Happy that ur dog survived 🥰🥰❤️❤️
this was on an episode of the Super Vet.. cat drank antifreeze and they gave her alcohol to keep her liver busy and ahe survived. it was actually one of their vet staff's cat.. so excelent advice!
That’s true! I work in veterinary medicine and we do occasionally get an antifreeze toxicity case (animals will drink it since it tastes sweet and they don’t know any better) so you’ll often see a big ass bottle of hard proof liquor in vet clinics for that reason
please explain why? surely not all the antifreeze leaves the pipes even if flushed with water.. you'd still risk drinking it.?!?! tbh.. it sounds like one of the stupidest things ever..
I'm from Canada and I absolutely base everything I know about the states and the whole world on Simpsons. Anybody remember the time Daniel Radcliffe actually voiced a Simpsons character? It was just for one episode but I found it hilarious. Edit: Turns out it was three episodes, not one. Thanks for the info, Shane!
@@naokotokomado9069 The one I had in mind was Edmund - a parody of Edward Cullen from Twilight. Daniel also voiced Digby Diggs and a version of himself.
Lol he filmed Horns in Vancouver. Vancouver isn't cold in the winter, the weather is quite similar to parts of England, and in fact, likely warmer than Northern Scotland and Wales lol. He shouldn't find it cold, being from England.
He did not drink a full cup of antifreeze!!!! I did and became within an hour of dying about a week later. The pain was unbearable and I was in the hospital for 3 months having to do dialysis until my kidneys started working again.
One would think antifreeze would taste funny. It must taste a lot like water if someone would take a big drink of it and not realize something's wrong immediately.
@@jimmyvanilla5285 Without his makeup you can see how much the alcohol has aged him, he was deep in the grips of alcohol the moment he got his hands on it and with being a world super star so young I don't blame him.
@@austro1675 JK Rowling stabbed herself in the back and is still going strong with her tweets and Daniels not causing anyone any harm, he's minding his own business.
@@justinsingh221 Im not going to completely defend Rowing because shes made an enemy of just about everyone. When you try to please everyone, you end up isolated. She's a squish that doesnt really stand for anything and is renknown for pandering and then proceeding to make enemies to the very people she pandered to. But im not sure how Radcliffe is 'minding his own business' for publicly calling Rowling out instead of having a private discussion with her.
@@austro1675 Well heaps of people in the LGBTQ community are all Harry Potter fans and due to Rowlings tweets it was hurtful to a lot of them almost 90% of them and Radcliffe had no choice but to call her out in support of the community and I'm sure if he didn't publicly call her out, Rowling would've admitted her mistake and apologised but when she didn't respond and with the LGBTQ community still hurt with her tweet, he had no option but to do so and that was it from him basically and Rowling just didn't give a crap and carried on doing what she was doing and made a mess of herself. A friend of mine the other day told me that biology facts are real yes but if transgender people want to call themselves women and men and be referred to as those genders they can and those other groups having a problem with it are all trying to sweep it under the carpet and let people know that it's taking away womens rights but nowadays most feminists are happy with supporting all women including transwomen and other communities as a whole. Its not hurting anyone and if a transgender individual was assaulting a person in whatever space they are in, it's not the transgender communities fault, its the person who committed the crime.
