You have directors just a couple of days ago in NY Times that didn't want to be identified coz of the fear of retaliation saying that the metoo movement went way too far and that whatever Hollywood is doing now with playing diehard politics isn't working coz well, it doesn't exactly put bums in the seats of the movie theater to put it mildly. All these heavy handed politics movies 'updated for a modern audience', the 'female centric ideological Mary Sues' the gender swap and race swap preform enormously bad. If Hollywood stays on this path, it's gonna be bankrupt pretty soon. What was that proverb again? Ah, get woke, go broke!

Neil Gaiman and J.K Rowling are apple and oranges. They have created totally different worlds and characters. They are not comparable. The sandman was an adult story the potter series and fantastic beasts was for children …… and a lot of us adults loved her books too.

Well, the field of biology does validate trans people. The idea that everyone fits into two gender categories is simply false, for a number of reasons: first, even biologically, there are not just two categories, as people can have xxx, xxy, and other sex chromosomes in addition to xx or xy, and there are also things like androgen insensitivity syndrome which causes a person with xy chromosomes to develop with female sex characteristics. Second, if woman = person who menstruates, what about women (bio females who you would call women too) who cant due to injury or birth control for instance. You might say that it's not menstruation that defines a woman then, sure, but I would ask what category it is? What characteristic makes a woman a woman? And third: gender and sex are different categories, sex is biological and gender is social. Gender is how we are treated and how we act / present / identify, so if we identify as a certain gender.. you are. That is not the same as saying that you can change bio sex. For further explanation look up a Forrest Valkai video on Sex, he explains it pretty well.

In my opinion it's not necessarily that he should have supported her in her opinions, but still remained in neutral disagreement. You can respectfully say that you are not involved with her opinions, without inciting hate against her, and he decided to bash her on multiple occasions instead, which is definitely very ungrateful of him. It's basic human decency. You don't throw someone who did so much for you under the bus because you're in disagreement with them on a single political topic.

"Hire"? I don't think she had any say in the casting of the films. Few if any book authors who write books on which films are based have a say in casting; typically they've sold the "rights" to their story and their involvement with the film ends there. Even script writers (which she was not) do not normally have a say in casting. That's up to casting directors, with possibly input from the director and producer.

But these people are trying very hard to cancel her for speaking her beliefs which she has a right to. Without Rowling there would not have been a Harry Potter.
