well... tbh 'murica doesn't know F1... at least a real big % of it I mean... luckily DTS got more people into F1 but still... most of the US can't relate at all to them and don't understand how good drivers are

i was thinking the same thing, i feel lime f1 drivers don’t do many great interviews or talk shows, and as a fan i think it’s so “mystical” you know? would love to watch some extended interviews

To be fair is because of that Netflix show that Americans are paying more attention to F1 including myself.

Daniel could have done a way better job of explaining it to be honest... describing it as a circus of adrenaline is kind of rediculous.

Yes it is the pinnacle of motorsports and technology in terms of car engineering to push the mechanical boundaries of conventional cars. The whole Netflix show is just to bring F1 to more larger audience. It's amazing to watch and at the end of each race you don't realize where the 2 hrs went.

The last time I watched Ellen was... when she had Sia and Maggie Ziegler for the live version of Chandelier, YEARS ago. THen this bit, because Daniel Ricciardo is one of my favorite F1 drivers alongside Charles Leclerc

I meaann, I get that but there's only a certain amount of questions you can really ask in the context that its very likely majority of the crowd doesnt know anything about F1.

like you couldnt really ask anything specific about the season or too in depth because it would be hard to understand without alot of context.

Whilst she probably doesn't know a lot I'm sure it's more of a way of introducing it to the audience who I imagine 90% barely heard of it before. So she's asking basic questions to educate the viewers as well, how I see it anyway.

Nascar, but you turn both ways several times an oval.

Probably the biggest difference is the effect the teams themselves have on performance. It would seem that in Nascar, the cars performance is more closely matched.

yeah I also think the show spreads a lot of misinformation but I mean if you just got into f1 its fun to watch I think

as a non american who got into f1 through the show, if ppl really get interested they will also know this dramatic touch eventually, and if they use their head they know that its normal to exaggerate some things to add drama so they will take things with a grain of salt. things will clear up when you start to follow the sport on your own not through the netflix show. ofc there are some ppl who will maybe just watch dts but then again, there are plenty of people who know little things about them anyway and make their own assumptions, you can never win 100%.

It’s really not unbelievable. The sport never took place in the USA, HAAS is only recently started to bring the Americans in. We only now have races in the US. We weren’t exposed unless we already knew it had someone that knew. I only started to learn from BBC Top Gear. We just weren’t exposed. Not our fault.
