@@Jonathan-mj1oe It was intended as a joke man. Of course Alex is good, it’s no wonder why he is joining Williams next year instead of going to FE. Also did someone like their own comment?
@@mehmetemrahyilmaz Haha, as if you'd know shit from chocolate. Go follow a sport that you can understand, maybe like...... Don't know. Is there a sport you can understand?
I've been watching this show for YEARS, and he took the second to the last corner the way I've been screaming at them to do it!!!!! Finally, someone heard me!!
You could see a real difference in the way Ric and Ham took those last 2 turns compared to the other F1 drivers, and they are the two fastest. Really interesting.
Only thing I got from this clip was how amazed Jeremy is at Daniel, if you watch the entire time when Jeremy is teasing Daniel about lap time, he looks astounded. He has that face that he pulls when his driving on spectacular roads in a car that he loves. He looks absolutely in love with Daniel. I bet that in his head his wondering, how does this bloke have such a kindred spirit and yet be so talented and skilled. Whilst Lewis is kind of driven and determined to prove a point and Seb is totally chill and calm. The guy infront of him is making jokes, taking the hits and smiling all through the bashing.
I respect Verstappen, Vettel and, to an extent Hamilton (that chip on his shoulder *must be unbearably heavy*), but Ricciardo will always be my favorite driver. He's the everyday person's driver and seems completely approachable; giving inspiration to young people that if you truly hone your skill, that world is accessible to anyone.
Ricciardo pretty much matched the fastest lap time set by the guests in a car that is probably 5-7 seconds a lap slower. Not to forget that he was 2.2 SECONDS faster than THE STIG.
That lift off oversteer into the 2nd last corner is easily worth 0.5 sec! That was absolutely sublime the way he took that corner and I've seen no one else do that before!
I know. The traditional handshake culture will be affected by covid. Going in for the hug? Well there was this thing in the back of my mind that went 'this is wrong!' And I don't mean two men hugging each other.
Daniel is such sweetheart & has so much charisma. Hope his car is more competitive this year as it's such a waste of his talent driving an inferior shitty car.
+bellabana put a merc engine in the red bull and it would dominate. That's why Merc and Ferrari refused to give them their engine when they were having a tantrum over the renault.
Put him in a Merc and Ricciardo would be the fastest no doubt. Who knows, Red Bull said they got a new unit to compete with Merc so come on man, do it for Australia!
you can tell how validated he feels when he finds out he's half a second faster than Hamilton. funnily enough, this is the only real direct comparison f1 drivers get to each other, so I'm sure alot of the guys that participated take it a bit seriously
I'm watching drive.to survive and in season 1 when a lot of the focus is on Daniel, he says if he had a properly competitive car he could win the world championship, I believe he could have.
@@paulharper4196 I think he's WDC capable, I think most of the drivers on the grid probably are. But it takes alot more than just the car. Hamilton is the outlier in this instance. They need the right team environment, relationships, the driver needs to be in the right head space. You also need a team mate that is cooperative and just not as talented as you. Bottas was pretty much the perfect teammate for Hamilton. If Daniel gets all his needs met, I do believe he could win.
After watching it again after several years, this is a monster lap from Daniel, but suddenly thought that it would have been great if some WRC Rally drivers had also joined the show.
This is a pretty good indicator of individual F1 driver talent when outside of their F1 team car. People can say what they like, Danny Ric is a world class driver!
I don't think many people understand just how fucking ridiculously good danny was in those skinny early hybrids. That renault was utter dogshit and the man could beat mercs on pure merit at the right tracks
Hamilton supporter here.....and i loved it. How can u not like Riccardo? His talent and personality are amazing. Ive always loved to watch him drive and hated to see him go to Renault on a wish.com style dream they sold him. If he was at Ferrari he'd be king of the hill
It's pretty hard not to like this guy. I've never liked Red Bull because Vettel is such a cry baby but I like Ricciardo. F1 needs this guy to win, we've had a buttercup champion for way too long.
+Daniele Iavarone veteel crush him on this year race of champion, with the same car, and become the champion of champion... the reason why vettel beaten by ric in 2014 is because vettel car has so much issue during practice!
+dea17 excuse me, are you comparing that cars of race of champions with some f1 cars? and in my opinion Vettel was beaten in 2014 when he was first drive yet.(you win 4 titles, why you don't to be first guide the next year?) and Vettel had a new chassis on fourth grand prix, Ricciardo must waited the middle of season for a new chassis... and I don't believe that Vettel had problems in every practice of 2014... and in gp Australia he showed his true value... mistake when he had not cars behind him... a champion... bah!
im not saying race of champion car is same as f1... im saying with the same specs car, vettel beat ricciardo! vettel strength was on his good understanding of the car, while the car cant be explored in practice because the issues he had, than he cant delivered! so what do you want to prove? vettel start is brilliant in australia, had the ferrari didnt made strategy mistake, and pit stop error he will won the race! your rubbish comment and judgement is nothing, compared to the f1 pundit and veterans who said he is champion material! i believe they had better credibility to say vettel is a champion than a hater like you... go ahead googling for yourself about lauda, stirling moss, and other said about him... 2014 is a fluke but 2015 show his greatest talent to put the team forward... what ricciardo done in RB in 2015 is the opposite, he cant give input for the engine development... he doesnt even state about engine drivability from 2014 which vettel already said as the main problem! champion?? BAHH!!!
+dea17 first, you say rubbish to your sister, second, the TRUE champion is adapt in every situation, and Vettel had a mistake in Australia like a stupid... Verstappen too, he was fourth/five and he was unlucky too, yes, he had a mistake, but he is young and he hasn't f1 experience than vettel, a "four" titles champion, that in Mexico 2015 couldn't overtake Maldonado... Vettel can only escape when he is first (with the best car) but... who can't to do it in f1? Hamilton can, Rosberg, Raikkonen...
Probably quickest because he used the stigs line in turn 1, cut the red and white stripes during the follow through and nailed the penultimate corner with lift off over steer
Yep. Danny is my favorite. Despite his talent, he comes off as pretty nice guy. & agree w. post that said if drove for MB, he would prolly be the champ. Lewis is good, no doubt, but he also has the best car. F1 rocks. Too bad not more popular in the US.
nope he got his nick name honey badger well before top gear. he coined it himself cos he felt it best described himself where it can be all cute and cuddly but get totally feral and nasty and tough to kill when it wants to be
i saw in the comments how similar Ric and Ham took the second before last corner and it's true that they really are on different level than the other drivers. Amazing.
I wonder if the track has been improving or they put better tires on or something. Basically every new F1 driver was somehow faster than the one before, with gaps that frankly can't just be explained by driving skill (even though I do like to believe that Daniel is actually 0.7 seconds faster than Lewis).
Cole Jones I think race craft-wise, it'd be a tight one, but I'm sure Ricciardo is much faster than Alonso when it comes to single lap settings like this one.
Emperor cesar the only person you have to make a comparison is seb vettel... and we've known for 5 years that he's a little over-rated.... beating vettel for 1 year i dont think gives him the title of top dog just yet... lets see how vettel goes vs raikkonen, and we will have a better idea of the alonso v hamilton v riccardo situation
***** and ric wasnt messing around and joking? he did 3 identical times. And hami cant be that gast he got out qualified by journeyman rosberg more often then not. As for vettel you dont win 4 titles by being average he beat webber by 200 points in 2013 who nailed rosberg when team mates. One thing about ric he makes 0 mistakes and we know hami is a error prone driver. Any driver that beats vettel by that kinda margin and consistency has to be the best, no way in hell hami or alonso would of beaten vettel like that. There is something about ric
