He spoke Cantonese in Lara Croft, but with a very heavy foreign accent. His accent is much less apparent here. So either he did the accent on purpose or he hasn't spoke Cantonese much in recent years and became less fluent.
I think it's just something that happens switching from english to cantonese. I do it sometimes especially if I'm throwing some english in my canto because I don't know the canto word for it.
