The most beautiful gymnast I've seen. Many gymnasts lack rhythm, musicality and fluidity but she's just perfect. If she had wanted to she probably could've been a great ballerina as well.
Daniela floats through her tumbling passes and accentuates every single dramatic moment in the music. Just pure genius. However, I prefer Shushunova’s artistic programme.
She had absolutely everything. She had power and grace. She could really dance, she knew how to perform and she had style. Even in a compulsory routine, she has so much charisma and style that she sets it apart.
She is like a ballerina, so elegant. Everything seems effortless. And look at that smile. She is not competing she is performing and everyone is lucky to be able to see this
Came here after watching her give Simone Biles her gold medal at the AA medal ceremony (2023 Worlds @ Antwerp). Two amazing world and Olympic champions. As much as I love Simone, this will forever be my favorite era of gymnastics. The artistry, the music, just everything is perfect! 😍😍
Poetry in motion. She epitomizes what an artistic gymnast should really be. Nowadays they’re imperfect acrobats. Bring back the artistry and the compulsories.
She pointed her toes in every single element, even the back handsprings and round off, had perfect splits on every leap and jump, floated around throughout the routine like gravity was nothing. Not to mention that exquisite layout stepout dismount. This was a TRUE perfect ten!
Amazing on every level. This is what made gymnastics seem so incredible to me. Perfection of skills, flying, fluidity, control, etc. I wish composition and perfection of basics were important today. Now it's just about points and anything that doesn't yield points is omitted even to the detriment of interest, artistry and beauty. Very sad!
She was the reason I got hooked with gymnastics. First time I saw her I just couldn't take my eyes off her. Such a magnetic personality. I wished she had won the AA gold, yet I would say she should be happy with all her medals since they are a result of her hard work, dedication, and of course incredible talent.
That was perfection. I mean real perfection. Rarely do we see splits that beautiful and complete, form that exquisite, rhythm and dance so attuned. It's important to note that comp. FX is part of the reason why Silivas won the floor title despite having a bauble in the EF. She had a compulsory routine that could not be matched.
One of the few routines that truly deserved a 10.0. This is perfection. There is not a single element that is not textbook. And the amplitude is astonishing!
Her bobble actually happened in Team Optionals when she threw the mount that bears her name to this day. I think that hurt her more in the AA Finals than it did for FX Finals (obviously as she won gold).
The dislike must have been for her hedgehog hairdo. It can't possibly be a single thing about the routine. Probably the best compulsory floor routine ever.
I can't believe I haven't posted on this video.. It's utter perfection. They should show this to anyone who wants to know why some of us loved compuslories. It's miles better than her optional floor.
I never get tired of watching her. She just has such beautiful lines and has so much grace. And she has such a great balance of dance and tumbling. To me, she was the true winner of the AA gold. I enjoy watching her so much more than Yelana Shushonova, and it seems like she lost over teeny technicalities
she was a good gymnast, in my opinion the best in every events... had a good and elegant moviments and she was a great dancer and excelent tecnique... and a great love for gymnastcs...
this just sends shivers through me each time i watch it. Bogi and Shushu, as powerful as they were, their compulsory routines could NOT compete with the elegance, lightness and flow of this exercise of Silivas. she seems to have no gravity. so carefree and youthful yet so technical and focused. she had everything. this compulsory exercise rivals that of Elena Mukhinas and Lilipods, dare I say this is one of the finest compulsory routines I’ve ever witnessed. Dani knew how to sell a compulsory to the judges. and even in these exercises where the girls were doing the same sets of moves, she really sets everything apart with her style and something about her just cannot be found in the other competitors here. she is the pinnacle of ARTISTIC gymnastics. marvelous. i was wishing she won the AA gold but, her career was a memorable one that can never be forgotten.
She is my favorite gymnast ever! She has a perfect execution, and on top of this her body is not overbuilt but very graceful, and her movements look like a rhythmic gymnast but with the acrobacias of artistic gymnastics
A joy to watch! Such beautiful gymanstics, she looks like she's floating in the air. I've never seen another like her, and to top it off ends it with a beautiful smile at the end. Amazing! 👌💜💐
Amazing. There is a way to perform compulsory routines and that was it. That girl just oozed personality. She was smiling as she prepped for one of the tumbling passes. No other routine deserved a 10 more.
Since I saw this compulsory routin, I cant stop whatching It. Now a days, new gimnasts make incredible acrobatic routins but without quality and Beauty. Sorry Simone.
Agreed. I'm all for accepting bodies of all shapes and sizes, but to see Aly Raisman heave herself into the air to execute a leap is sad compared to this. We can thank the new Code of Points for the emphasis on difficulty and a complete lack of artistry anymore. A gymnast can fall during her floor routine and still be Olympic champion if it's "difficult enough." Pfft.
Such joy watching this routine. fluidity of her movements is seamless. she exudes grace and sweetness. To me she looks light-hearted and joyous, luring us into the magic of her every movements. Purely eternal.
We were so lucky to see and know the dreamlike performance. She was at her best on that prime stage. It is the longest 90 seconds masterpiece I've ever seen.
You cannot compare today's gymnasts with those from the 70s-early 90s (especially mid 70s - 80s). Different set of rules & expectations. Simone Biles is an excellent gymnasts but when you review gymnasts such as this from a different era, it is almost an insult to say Simone (or any gymnast within the last 20 years) is the "GOAT." Not only are the uneven bars different, some skills banned but most of the grace is gone. And on the beam since 2008, most gymnasts will not dare to mount in a unique or awesome way. Daniela Silivas not only has the skills but the fluidity & grace & beauty exudes through her. Most gymnasts today can do the big flips but due to many reasons such as the new point system & cracking down on complex rotations or banning some skills for being too "risky" the uniqueness is gone, the grace is lacking & its sometimes hard to tell some of the gymnasts' routines apart.
completely agree with you...nowadays gymnast are like circus actors, they haven't grace and beauty like girls from mid 70s to mid 90s. When I watch SImone (only has a power with lack of grace, style and beauty in her routines) and for example Silivas or Shushunova you can clearly see the difference between them.
Thats what we call evolving ,if the rules are the same ,now and then ,then the rotine also similar like used to ,so the FIG who nade it different actualy ,not the gymnast
Standing on the shoulders of giants is a much referred to phrase. Why? because modern gymnasts don't come out of the box with anything new. Each generation builds on the learning and hard effort of those who came before. There was a paradigm shift in the 70's and 80's from Korbut to Silivas which is why this particular generation so captivated audiences worldwide in a way never repeated. In my humble opinion Daniele was the most elegant.
