That's not rock candy pops. You aren't supposed to eat it like that, it's just sugar. It's meant to go in coffee and sweaten it. Like fancy coffee lol

Yo! You need to freeze the Red Aalborg (the one in the video) before you drink it. Other Akvavits are made for room temperature, but not that one . And remember kids! Water equals life! (Akvavit = Aqua Vitae = Water of Life) before you drink it.

Danes usually bake their own butter cookies for Christmas, so we do eat butter cookies!! but Danes do not buy butter cookies that often the rest of the year, like everyone else we enjoy other snacks so butter cookies are mostly a December/January snack.

I've never seen a foreigner be like "I really really like this" for any danish licorice (or anything danish besides pasteries and legos).... we had some exchange students and they just went like "s***!!!" and spat it out(not the scouts snuff though, it's kinda impossible, but they drank a lot of water) haha

Love what you're doing here laughed at your pain so you didn't waste your time, thought of pledging but watching on iPad I couldn't click on anything within the video pane nor the missing link in the description unless I've missed it and in that case I feel like a dumb bum but now I must catch my breath as I type this long sentence and will leave on 2 suggestions: an iCard for patreon within the video would be easier for mobile device watchers as well as a link in the description. And now since I technically broke my sentence I will make the effort to go look for you on patreon cuz I think you guys are a hoot.

I'm just... super amused by the dislike of liquorice... mostly because it always remind myself that disregarding the taste (which I like) liquorice is atleast made out of plant matter rather than the eyeballs of pigs... which is one of the components (gelatine) of the other soft candy around here called 'gummy bears'

5:00 they are old candy in denmark i gess it go way back of 1900 if i remember right. 5:25 yep the older drink it mostly :-) all so Gammeldansk, but its like some wine whit gammeldansk, whit the right food it do right.

Well, if you don't like the taste, then yes. Also low temperatures will make the alcohol less pronounced.

I think only cheap alcohol needs to be that cold. ;) Well, I drink my akvavit at room temperature, so I can taste the flavor for real und unbiased. And... jeg elsker Danmark - I am 25% Danish thanks to my morfar. :)

These Hard candy pops aren't really candy, it's used to make hot drinks, like Irish Coffee, sweet and kinda not for eating like candy. You can eat it like candy, like some people likes to eat pure sugar.

the skipper pibe was not the sweet variation, that has pink sprinkle on top. The yellow is salt liquorice.

Hey! I know this video is a couple years old by now but it took me a time to get around these parts of youtube. I don't know if the danish girl made it clear that we have a different way of calculating percentages in Denmark than US when it comes to alcohol, and that was actually you know, 40% out of a 100% pure alcohol, not the system you guys use which is calculated around volume somehow? whatever I didn't take the time to look it up properly but by now I expect you know where I was going with this comment. This isn't fair. The "Valhalla" liqueur they enjoyed the most is from Finland. As a Dane I feel very disappointed liking all of this stuff. Maybe we just have a weird taste in food. Who knows?

I'm Danish and I was so surprised to see that you were reacting to Danish candy etc. The licorice she gave you was not even close to the worst here, haha. You should try some Danish beer (Carlsberg) Its very good and something we enjoy very much. Weird fact about Denmark: You are allowed to drink at all ages, you just have to be 16/18 to buy it(16 for soft drinks like beer and 18 for drinks like vodka). So if a 12 year old is drinking on the street, it's legal. Same goes with cigaretes, you just have to be 18.

5:20 Yes you are very right. It truly is an old people drink. You can only drink it when your so old your taste buds no longer work. Yes we like liquorice very much here in Denmark. Personally i even love it :D Gammel Dansk. Im so close not to even want to torture my sewage drain with it. It is THE most disgusting drink you can put in your mouth.
