They met over 40 years ago while attending an off-Broadway play. It was love at first sight. Perlman was in the audience and Devito was on stage. They ended up spending the entire night talking with each other before DeVito worked up the never to ask for her number. Just two weeks later, they moved in with each other.
They lived for a decade in each other's company. In that time their love and friendship grew. They weren't just lovers. No, they were far more than that. They could enjoy life with each other in ways that others could only dream of. In 1983 they decided to take things to the next level by getting married.
It surprised some fans in 2017 when the couple announced that they were splitting up. They had already had a rocky history in recent years but it had appeared that they had put aside their differences but alas, that still wasn't enough. Even though they are now separated, Rhea has repeatedly said that she has no plans of getting a divorce.

This story is a mirror of my wife and I. We got together in 1990 we split in 2005 but always said we would never divorce. In 2013 we got back together and have never been happier. We have always been the best of friends and now enjoy spending all of our time together. Also we love being with our kids and grandkids. I have always said I got married once and for always with my eternal soulmate and best friend. I love you baby!😘

@@cindyb8775 well I had a lot of changes in my life and attitude. Learned to be more relaxed. Also I stopped working 70 to 100 hour weeks. By the end of 2009, I was only working 1 job at a time instead of 2 or 3. When I came back to AL in 2013 I promised her,our 2 children, and 3 grandkids that I would not work more than 40 hours a week. I called it my semi-reatirement. Unfortunately since then my health declined so much so I had to get VA disability. She also had a lot of life changing events happen. And she has been in the process of trying to get her disability for several years also. When I came back in 2013 one of the reasons was to take care of her. Now we have have to take care of each other. We always knew we wanted to grow old together. Our love has always been very deep and passionate. Everyone who ever spent anytime around us tells us that we have a truly loving relationship. We just had to spend time apart to remember it. Thank you for your interest. I met them on a flight to Ecuador a few years back. She was delightful and their adult children all seemed like regular folk Mr Devito was a gentleman I am glad they make it work and I know how hard it is to keep a relationship going for years but the truth is they really belong together. They fell in love when they had nothing. Eventually they will realize this

Danny & Reah are made for each other. My parents died in the same year, same month, different days & reasons. They would have been celebrating their 72 Wedding Anniversary in that same month. Danny & Reah will be doing the same. God blessed them. 🙏🏼

Nothing wrong with their relationship. I've been divorced nearly 20 years and still friends with ex. We have lunch, dinner and help each other when one or the travels. Better friends than married couple. ✌😊

Life changes, so does love....that giddy love that you feel in the beginning but after a few years that evolves into something deeper. I have been married to the same man for over 30 years, we have two children and 20 years of marriage we split but didn’t divorce. Thank god we got back together, he is my best friend, 1st person i want to talk to in the morning and the last person i want to say goodnight to.

My husband nor myself understands how you can be with someone like 25yrs plus and suddenly walk away. We are married 33yrs and I simply can not picture a world or a home without him next to me. As for "Facts Verse". hard to keep that spark alive? If you truly love each other, it becomes something much deeper then a spark. I guess it's different for everyone.

Personally, the only reason we've been married for almost 40 years is because we don't always live under the same roof. Neither one of us wants a divorce or have to go back to dating, and we are the best of friends. Sometimes, you just need a little space. What works for us and them may not work for another couple.

Me too...Getting to the stage that they're under your feet...everywhere you turn ..just to have some alone time.. Been a wife been a mother ..and that loss of identity sets in .. That need for finding our true selves again takes over.. And I get agitated at not being able to have it..
