This whole Danny Dyer story has been one of the best programme in this series, absolutely fascinating. You could imagine Danny back in the 1600's, with his outspoken cavalier attitude he would've fitted in just fine, he would've been a hard case to handle!!

I was randomly looking at a map, and saw a battleground labelled 1643. I didn't know much about it but I looked it up and realised it was a civil war battleground. It made me look at the history of Devon and Cornwall. I found out they were proper parliamentarians, and the Royalists have been trying to win them for years, however in 1643 they finally managed to win them. The history is just amazing and fascinating.

There is no definitive "wrong side of history" in the English Civil War. That term gets bandied about far too freely these days. It should be used with extreme caution, if ever. That is not to be confused with moral relativism. It's just a very rare circumstance when all of the good is on one side and all of the evil on the other. It's almost never that simple, and the English Civil War was anything but simple.
