@@Reject101Personal Perhaps people don't know about his music career before Nightmare... He basically wrote the script. Wrote all the songs before they had a story, all based on how he as lead band member was feeling empty and looking for something more. Just like Jack I think he found his something more, he's been involved in so many projects. Such a magical human. ✨️ I just get so happy everythime we look up the composer for a Movie or Show and his name pops up !! Happy Halloween 🎃
Those classic Danny Elfman faces are making me want to cry. It's almost like he hasn't changed as a performer since Oingo Boingo split 😭 you can tell he still enjoys singing for people. I hope he doesn't retire before I can see him live. All of his music makes me emotional, and- Oingo Boingo is part of what got me through rehab as a teenager. I dunno. Maybe I've just gotten soft.
A god of soundtracks, we gotta have a mount Olympus because for one of the only times I can’t call a winner between Elfman, John Williams, Hans Zimmer and a few others
wellllllllll I think he, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Jerry Goldsmith, Ennio Morricone, Elmer Bernstein and James Horner would all say that title belongs to Max Steiner.
I fell in love with Oingo Boingo as a kid back in 1981 with their first album Only a Lad. (Ya, I'm old) Growing up in San Diego then Oingo was huge. But I understand they weren't like that in most of the country. Just dead mans party and weird science ever got air play. Plus Danny never really acted like a rock star. I don't recall him ever being in the news for anything sensational or negative. Always came off as a cool humble guy in interviews. Then he sorta vanished by dedicating himself to working his ass off in his studio writing amazing movie soundtracks. I consider him a musical genius. Maybe that's better than rock star.
@@gregbradshaw7220 that one did get some broader air play. Don't know is it got radio exposer. But Good bye Good Bye was the closing credits song for fast times a Ridgemont High. That goes all the way back to the Mystic Knights era.
@@michaelburk9171 that one’s so outside their style too. Like swing rock! Favourite semi popular singles by then is Private Life and Nothing Bad Ever Happens to Me. Elfmans solo albums are killer as wel
I sing this all the time. Danny, thank you for opening the doors to Imagination. You have been such an influence. I had a home, I sang. Homeless, I sang. Quarantined, I screamed. Thank you.
He is so amazing, he wrote all these songs before they even had a story for the movie. Based it on his exact feelings as part of a very successful band, wanted more and my God did he get to do it. He is an amazing composer. Look up some of the projects he's worked on... It's vast !
Oingo Boingo is one of my favorite bands. Danny Elfman was the frontman, lead singer and lead songwriter. Check out their albums “Nothing to Fear” and “Dead Man’s Party”
Omg after 30 years and watching TNBC as an 8 year old only now did i realise Danny is jacks voice!! Wow. And.his vibe for a 70 year old man is eveything! He completely shaped my childhood when it came to music and film. Not even Disney did for me🤎
AAH!!! As a proffessional singer I admire Danny so so so SOOOO much. One of my biggest inspirations in my entire life. For SURE. He still has those high, AND low notes perfectly, as well as great support, inflection, and very little strain as well as some great vocal technique. I aim to be able to perform like that at his age some day too. I hope I can give him a hug one day:’)
I’m so happy that my 3 year old daughter can enjoy this with me!!! Burton, Elfman, and all the many people that don’t get credit they deserve for their parts in NBX all have the genius stroke and it’s so great that this film was realized and so successful!!! Ps. Gregg Proops rules!!!!
Ok Danny, not only do you still look GREAT after all this time (LUCKY Bridget!), but the emotion you displayed while thrilling this audience with one of your classics makes it clear how much THIS particular piece still means to you. 😀🤘💋💋💋
He did a wonderful song of the crowd they listen very classic I keep hearing the song over over and over again and I love it bravo to the Pumpkin King 👏👏👏
He sounds like his voice was having difficulty with longer, more lyrical parts. Hope it was just from all the singing and not indicative of his voice’s health
Gives me chills unlike anything I know. Though such a dark song, it lifts my spirits to insane heights every time. Thank you Elfman and Burton for this amazing work or art!!!
My 1 yr old is addicted to nightmare before Christmas, and my oldest, who's 3, loves to sing to that song, lol. Both my children just love Jack skeleton ❤
I only just searched his name again after coming across the video, he looks amazing for being 71. Like wtf, guy has the body of someone who could be mid to late 40's 😮
Wow. The thing that I don't understand is why Nightmare Before Christmas was never a Broadway Musical. I would make the trip and would be in costume in the audience as well as most of the audience. It really doesn't make sense.
Honestly, having seen Nightmare Live as Danny has done it for many years, I feel a Broadway Musical version would be too gimmicky. The only way to make Jack work on stage would be a Lion King type puppet, a person in costume would not convey the Jack Skellington personal properly.
