Yes, Danny's honesty is remarkable when he could easily pretend to be above it all. He's always been very willing to be candid about his weak spots..haha, such as the "Weird Science" video (also a Huff Post interview clip)
I imagine Danny getting mad at you would be terrifying and intense, like he would be able to just rip you to shreds verbally and knock you totally out of place.
Why is Danny so buff, he is a fucking film composer. I just imagine someone being like “aw man i forgot my piano” then Danny is like “np i got ya” then carries it across his shoulders like a water bottle case from Walmart
He’s a health freak. He wants to stay alive for as long as possible so he can continue to make as much music as possible. Probably takes loads of cognitive supplements as well, judging from his IG he’s a fan of lion’s mane mushrooms. Plus he’s a rock star as well as a film composer and rock stars have to look good when they take their shirt off.
I couldn't be a bigger fan of Danny's. As a small-time composer, he has single-handedly inspired me more than anyone, ever. Thank you for the interview, and wow, Danny, you are looking fit!
This was around the time that Nomi Abadi got horny for him and tried to steal him from his wife and now she’s accusing him of sexual assault because he wouldn’t dump Bridget Fonda for her.
I just learned something insightful! You never know where you land on the internet when it comes to hearing something that will help you grow alittle bit more!
Danny has been ripped since his Oingo Boingo days,.. i thnk he was one the the kids that got picked on for being small and then got jacked in his teens and 20s, cause the dude has always looked like he could bust boulders with his palms lol
@@milorodriguez3739 Ironically he should have stepped back from Nomi Abadi around the time that this happened. She tried to wreck his marriage and now she’s trying to assassinate his character.
1992 - I was working for pianist Mike Lang as his administrative assistant.......I was gone one day from the office (at the funeral for drummer Bob Raitt) - got back to the office, called the service - I had missed a call from Danny Elfman
I had heard that they had a falling out around the time of Ed Wood which explains why Howard Shore did the music instead (another great composer) however I didn't know the details of it until watching this.
He went into it more recently: Danny was supposed to do Jack's singing AND speaking voice in Nightmare Before Christmas, and Tim agreed. Disney pushed back and didn't want Danny doing Jack's speaking voice and Tim capitulated to Disney and didn't have Danny's back, so Danny felt hurt that Tim didn't support him and the speaking voice for Jack was dubbed over by Chris Sarandon.
Danny Elfman is cool. He does a great job writing music. Though one thing i don't get is that when Elfman had a falling out with Tim Burton, they patched up their working relationship between each other right away and continued working together. But when Elfman had a falling out with Sam Raimi on Spider Man 2, the two did not work togther again until Oz the Great and Powerful. They're currently working on Doctor Strange in the Multi Verse of Madness. But I wonder why it is Elfman and Burton patched up their working relationship better than Elfman's working relationship with Raimi. Elfman and Raimi did not work with each other again until a decade later verses when Elfman had a falling out with Burton.
Some people claim all his music sounds the same, which I don't get. Like any form of art, everyone has their own distinctive style and there's nothing wrong with that. But even then, how does the Spider-Man theme sound even remotely like The Simpsons theme or Edward Scissorhands' score. Honestly, those people are hypocrites IMHO because if I said the same thing about Hans Zimmer or John Williams, they would freak out.
@@fanime1 i disagree. i can tell a hans zimmer or john williams score just as easily as a danny elfman score. they all have their unique signatures and fluorishes
@@adamnqueen3644 @Ohh Yesss @Corvus Delicti @The Internet Astronauts the monsters are all missing, and the nightmares can't be found... and in this place there seems to be good feeling all around!! (one year later hahahah)
The falling out was all because of nightmare before Christmas. This was Tim Burtons creation but he wasn’t on set as much because he was filming Batman returns where Danny elfman was on set and felt that this was his film and I think that’s where the egos clashed
If anyone wants to know what the following our was over, apparently Danny wanted to have his name in the title for nightmare before Christmas due to the fact he spent so much time working on it (the final film is titled Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas, but he wanted it to be Tim Burton and Danny Elfman’s)
Makes sense it would be about that, they've given interviews about how there was no story, just an idea about characters living in Halloween town. Danny wrote all the songs straight away, based off how he felt as apart of his band. I love knowing more about all the people to were involved in making this. Also well done to Henry Selick 👏 Bravo all!!!!!!
What a idiotic line of questioning, as though men who work together for a number of years or projects end up BFFs, confiding secrets in one another and cuddling.
@@msd5808 I mean, can you blame him for not wanting to go out of his way to blackwash traditionally white characters seeing that a lot of his movies take place in like Victorian England or similar? On the other hand I recall that one of the heroes on Mars Attacks was a black guy.
@@nuclearcatbaby1131 I think Samuel Jackson is in Miss Peregrine but he has scary eyes, so that could be interpretted as a microaggression of some sort. Also the Oopma Loompas were Hispanic, and the mayor of Gotham black
1:32 I used to joke about this. I just assume he's doing the same here. Or should I view this in another light? I'm not so sure in this current day and age. These Hollywood types are so sus. You know, there was a time when we think Elfman rocked. And he looks normal here. Look at him now. Something is off. These people all should be embarrassed of themselves and if they have integrity and revoke the whole industry. No one did. None.
I would say he was talking about Nomi Abadi but this video took place around the time he had just met her and before any of the inappropriate behavior she claims had happened.
Generally speaking I am a Huffington Post supporter though I don't always agree with their point of view. Huffington Post just announced that they will no longer publish Donald Trump stories in their Politics section and will instead publish them in their Entertainment section. I am not a Trump supporter and there is very little he could say that would change my mind. That is a very dangerous move and a monumental mistake. If they do not retract this position, I will no longer support Huffington Post. He is a United States presidential candidate who is leading in the polls and deserves a fair voice. What Huff Post has done is unAmerican and should not be tolerated by any credible news corps. You have the weekend to change your stance Huff Post and then the BOYCOTT is on.
+John Kaitlyn What you don't seem to get is that Trump only wants publicity, he doesn't want to become president, even he knows he doesn't have the political skills or the means to become one therefore I agree this is just all a media stunt
Risk Romer I think that definitely was the case months, if not weeks ago, but I wouldn't be surprised if the lead he's had in the polls has changed that. He does have a chance, of course there's still a lot of time for him to completely alienate his base.
