On this episode of Korda’s, The Thinking Tackle Podcast is Danny Fairbrass and The Thrive Programme coach, Rob Kelly. In this podcast, the pair discuss the importance of mental health awareness and how to cure PTSD.
PTSD, or Post-traumatic stress disorder, is an anxiety disorder caused by very stressful, frightening or distressing events.
Someone with PTSD often relives the traumatic event through nightmares and flashbacks and may experience feelings of isolation, irritability and guilt. They may also have problems sleeping, such as insomnia, and find concentrating difficult. These symptoms are often severe and persistent enough to significantly impact the person's day-to-day life.
The pair recently appeared on a previous podcast, where Danny broke the news about his recent battle with Cancer. After that show, both Korda and The Thrive Programme were inundated with people asking for help with PTSD.
Therefore, Danny and Rob wanted to produce this podcast to share vital information for those who might be suffering and seeking help for this condition.

All I can say is Thank you Danny! I won't go into details or long message but the last 2 podcasts have been a turning point for me. It sounds dramatic but it's true. Also SPF50 now ordered and I'm going to get the book. Again thank you so much, you are a true inspiration.

i joined the army when i was 18 i was in there for over 12 years 3 tours i got medical discharged with PTSD had it for many years i took up carp fishing which helped me so much met my wife in there she was my rock . then 10 months ago i got bad again with my mental health i ended with it again due to my carp gear stolen at knife point, but im determened to get rid off of it again im slowly getting my carp gear back due to getting a new job.

I don't want to distract from the awesome message being told here, I've suffered from depression and had therapy free on the NHS and it did me proud and worked, I hate to say this but this feels like an advert for private health care, please don't think I'm trolling the message is on point and so relevant for so many people who will watch this, not everyone can afford private health care, there is this service on the NHS and it's extremely good also. I know Danny runs a successful company that can afford this private health care on himself and his employees and that is exemplary and I wish him all the best with his recovery

I am ginger so I have to cover and use sun lotion, I am litterly crippled by the sun with headaches, energy loss and sickness. Dan is the only person alive on the planet that I want to meet, if it wasnt for the Carp tackle tactics and tips dvd, I would have never have got into carp fishing and after a decade of giving up the sport ( because of work commitments) Its now helping me with depression and getting back out on the bank has been the best help I have recived yet. Every time I hear the korda theme I litteraly want to grab all my go fishing :) , nothing else has ever made me do that. So thanks Danny for making that dvd.

My dad has had skin cancer spots. So I choose to cover up. Sometimes I have to drink a gallon of water to beat the heat.

@@Weekendairsoftwrrior Sunscreen, gallons of water while being fully covered up while popping painkillers like sweets just so I can make it to work the next day and not be completly crippled. But even if that wasnt the case I would still fully cover, because cooking your skin for looks is fucking retarded.

I want to say so much. But I suffer from anxiety and depression and out of all the psychiatrists I've seen, which I might add I felt worse after. That I must say is the best advise I've ever had or heard in my life. Amazing and thank you very much. Sometimes you can become so lost, cheers guys. Wayne 👊👊👊👍👍👍

My son is 15 and had a triple heart bypass and been diagnosed with PTSD and seeing a psychologist I didn't realise till now they just ask him how he is feeling and that but don't actually give him solutions or ways to combat it 🤷🏼‍♂️ and with covid he has become really isolated 😬this has been a real eye opener and hearing this has confirmed it's all about mind set.not going to lie I wish I could afford to get him a life coach but I can educate myself to become a better teacher and teach him these real life skills that will make his life easier and grow myself at the sametime never too old to learn new tricks 😜 Thanks korda

I bought myself a bottle of p20 factor 50 a couple of weeks back, wear it every day that I go outside, didn’t wear lotion enough, only occasionally and but since watching the podcast I won’t go out without it

An hour into it and once again a top top video thanks for sharing. Mental health is finally getting the exposure it needs and I do think a lot don't understand unless they have been through it. It's these types of videos that really help people speak out. Like many others I always put lotion on now following the video the other week and openly admit I didn't do it enough at all. 🙌🙌

You asked why it is people don't wear sun tan lotion. For me, for years it's because I thought it was still that horrid greasy stuff. But since my little one came along I started using it on her, I fou d out first hand just how much it has improved over 20 years. Since the last pod cast I have even purchased some UPF clothing. Mountain warehouse had very reasonable prices. Ty for sharing your experience. Only right I offer my feed back and thank you for educating us.

Interesting subject! P.T.S.D! Having served in the Parachute Regiment and been diagnosed with it for a lot of year's, I've found that after many years of suffering, learning to welcome it as my friend as helped dissipate the symptoms of the diagnosis of the condition! And of course fishing!! 💫💎🕉️✌️🙏

I've just got to say thank you Danny for putting your experience out there for everyone to see ! 30 years ago it was one in six would get cancer!! Now it's one in two !! Just a thought ... could korda do something where that in there packaging there is a leaflet for all too read ! Or get with a pharmaceutical company and give away suntan lotion when you buy a korda product? Also work with that company to make a suntan lotion that is PH neutral for all fishing? You get better and want to see another video where your on the bank ..

Great video buddy but I can’t get past my PTSD. If it wasn’t for just one special thing in my life, my dog, I’d be swinging from a tree. Have £££’s of kit, Korda, Trakker etc but apart from walking the dog, I just cant leave the house. Tight lines.

Not to scare you but that’s how my wife’s started in a mole she’s had 2 removed 2 lots of lump nodes removed emu no therapy for a year which didn’t work for her and on Friday she was told it’s back in her lymphnodes she’s now got to go through it all again and perhaps radio therapy to. So moral is don’t feel silly by checking twice

Although it's brilliant you're helping to normalise mental health issues to suggest you can cure PTSD is a bit misleading. I have PTSD and I can tell you it's something you have to live with for life.

Sorry but I don't buy this Thrive, especially after watching this second podcast, it's on the cusp of being dangerous talking about addiction and ptsd in this manner. I can understand desperate people buying into this but this kind of exposure for what is essentially a snake oil cult is dangerous. I'll say it if no one else will.
