McFly's Danny Jones is moving on to a solo career after success in McFly and has hit the music scene with his debut tune Is This Still Love. Report by Lucy Jones.
I'm a little bit sad. I know they didn't say they've split up but they basically did. And that part when he said to Harry that would be McFly that broke my heart. But at the same time I'm really happy for him because I wasn't so sure about his DJ carreer but I really love these solo projects and I hope he'll be appreciated because he deserves. Basically Tom was more appreciated as a writer or as a dad so Danny needs it too because he has some great talent.
When he spoke about McFly saying that they could always be appreciated a bit more, that is so true. McFly had this problem with wider audiences and were almost looked on as a kinda put together pop band with some catchy tunes but that was it. And it bothered me because everyone in the fan base knows how great they are together, how they write and play their own stuff and put on SUCH AN INCREDIBLE LIVE SHOW. Maybe that was one of the reasons they decided to leave it for a while, because whereas Busted broke up in their prime when they were still young, then came back as grown men and smashed it because people had that separation from their earlier music, McFly have grown up in the band and everyone has seen them do that, so it is like people still see them as the band they were when they began, which isn't a bad thing by any means but to people not in their direct fan base maybe it seems like they haven't evolved, but I find that hard to believe because I think they have so much. Anyway I'm not making much sense I'm just writing as I am thinking, Ill stop now.
Katherine McGarry I completely agree with you! I’ve seen the fans get upset that he’s doing his solo career in music, same with Dougie. They say that they’ve betrayed the fans and the band but that’s totally wrong! This is the exact way all of the fan base and people who know of the band but haven’t taken much notice, should think of the situation. It’s not something to be upset about! It’s an idea to be excited for!
@@abbyolsvensson2413 Anyone that is anything less than supportive of all the guys aren't really fans; or they are very selfish. The guys are all finding their own things that they're really good at separately and EVERY fan should see that. Not as "OMG they'll never be a band again! How could they do this to me!"
I love the way he talks, he sound so matured compare to his Mcfly interview. When he was in the band he was "the funny one", always doing jokes and making people laugh. In the band Tom or Harry were the ones talking the more important parts. But now, Danny is on his own and you can actually see how intelligent he is when he talks about something that he loves. They never let him talk like this in the band and I'm glad he can do it now. Well done Danny!
actually yeah, will.i.am said in an interview that danny's one of the smartest people he has worked with and that he keeps him on his toes, mentally. I love that about Danny because he's got the brains, the talent and the humour! I really hope he success on his solo project.
I don’t feel like they didn’t let him talk, I actually think it was his choice, but I totally agree about loving to hear him and seeing how intelligent he is
If you look at some interviews that he has done with the boys in the past, you can tell he is intelligent and passionate about things. He has his "dumb blonde" moments, like the letter 7 and the number G😂, but everyone has them moments and there is no denying it.
That bit about Harry really was gutting. Harry's been the one who was most outspoken about how McFly wasn't over and how much he still loved the band. The fact that Danny shot him down when he asked to drum for him is so sad.
Harry has been very supportive of ALL the guys in their separate endeavors. I think it's very sweet that Harry wanted to help, but Danny is right. He needs to do this on his own and gain the respect he deserves. As a man and as an artist.
I have loved this man (and mcfly) for 10 years now and I still feel like a teenager when he smiles and laughs. Like someone said in another comment here, he has always been the funny one in the band, so whenever I see him speaking about more serious topics, I see how smart he is and how passionate he is about making music. I'm proud of you, Danny.
I’m 54 and have grown up listening to all kinds of music. Over 40 years worth, and I have to say his voice is amazing and my favorite of anyone I’ve ever listened to in my lifetime of listening to other bands and artists. Danny has something i’ve never seen in any other artist. I’ve followed Danny and the boys through their entire career unfortunately because I live in America I’ve never seen them live. Maybe someday
I was lucky enough to be hired as Danny and Dougie’s guitar tech when they played 2 shows in New York in 2012, I had never heard of them. I was hooked from soundcheck and they are one of my favorite bands ever since. They are also class act human beings
Peter Mussillo that's fantastic! What an awesome experience. I became a fan way back in 06 I think right after I saw the movie just my luck with my daughter. Part way through the movie I realized that they weren't just pretending to be a band, they were. I looked them up online but couldn't find much at the time but I just kept watching for them to finally show up online here in America. I think they are all very talented but I've always kind of felt a little more connected to Danny from a mom standpoint cause I always felt like he got picked on cause things would always go over his head, and they would make fun yet he didn't even know it was happening. That has been I think what's kept him so real even now. He's genuine and sweet.

It's nice that McFLY is able to venture out on their own for a bit. They've done so much as a band, and as genuine close friends you rarely see that with other bands. I'm still hopeful for future McFLY music! I'll support them forever.
Exactly! It's great to see people who see them as more than just a band; four individual guys who are all insanely talented and have shined in doing their own things. One day, when the guys are ready, they'll be back and better than ever.
I want Danny to make more music because if they aren't making music together anymore, then at least we still have something new to listen to. & I agree with Danny that McFly could always be more appreciated. It's true. I have one friend who knows who they are and thats only because I introduced her to their music. Basically nobody in Canada knows them and 'Just My Luck' did almost nothing for them in the States. It's just sad because they deserve so much more recognition.
I'm a McFly fan and I can't understand british english... so fucken hard! I mean, you get good amount of words but then all at sudden you are totally lost and dont understand a thing... I like the british accent tho
