He just knows his poop stinks like the rest of ours does, his fans. An old soul with a superb appreciation for life. A common man who everyone loves. Amazing. Ok, now I gotta fold my t-shirts 😅
Oh man, Danny won me over with the Yes Going For the one for best concert. Yes were invigorated in 77’ . Wakeman was back in the band and GFTO was such a powerful album. Must have been a phenomenal show.
I caught the original lineup at the Tower in UpperDarby, Philly. They sound as good live as an LP. Played all the hits. It was 1998, I was 33 yo, incredible show. Incredible.
The fact that he's wearing that Genesis t-shirt makes me love him more. Had the chance to see them twice at the O2 last week (2nd day was his birthday and we sang happy birthday with Maynard's help 😆). Flew from Argentina just to see them since they never went to another south continent, south America.
He’s wearing “A Trick of the Tail” shirt! An album tied for number one, beside Aenima, for me. Both albums are such emotionally evocative soundscapes. He seems like such a gentle giant. ❤️
I spoke to Adam at a VIP in Denver 7-8 years ago. They have to do several shows in the US before breaking even, due to the amount of non-negotiable rigging for their shows. Even if I won R50mil in the lotto, would still lose money bring them out to play CT and JHB.
@dracolusus I wondered why they don't seem to do much international touring. To get them to SA would be a dream. We also need Rammsteim again, phenomenal show.
Right when I thought I couldn't love this man anymore. My favorite drummer of all time is John Bohnam. My favorite band from the 90s back, is Genesis. My 2nd favorite drummer of all time is, of course, Danny Carey ❤. What a truly beautiful person.
Danny you are my favourite drummer of all time! I have been a tool fan for almost 30 years now. I can remember listening to Genesis with my Dad, god rest his soul,😢. He past away this year. That is my favourite Genesis Album! I would have loved to have showed this to him, my favourite band, drummer and Genesis album. Genesis was his absolute most favourite band! I miss you Dad, I really hope you are watching this now. Danny, you guys keep up the phenomenal work guys! I hope you guys come back to Ontario soon!
Such a sweetheart. People who have met him have said that he is the most down-to-earth guy. I saw a video where he was chilling at a Morrissey concert like a normal person. They frequently do this where they're up in the balcony so that way they have less of a chance of being recognized. If people did recognize him, they left him alone which I thought was cool. He was just chilling with a drink in his hand like everybody else.
I love that his favorite drummer was Bonham and he got an autograph from Copeland. My top three drummers of all time are Bonham, Copeland, and of course, Danny Carey
I had the TOTAL WRONG IMPRESSION of him. For his first 10 years I knew of him, I never saw a pic or vid with him smiling. I assumed he was dark, moody, and unpleasant. He is such a nice humble man. Genuinely happy. I guess I mistook his professionalism and focus as his persona. Now I have a total new outlook on him, and newfound interest in his music.
I was at that same YES concert (Going For the One tour in Kansas City). I bought the T-shirt and wore it to school the next day. People kept asking "why is there a naked guy on your shirt ?".
John Bonham I'm really surprised Danny I thought you said Carl Palmer or Bill bruford or maybe even Terry Bozzio Vinnie Coliuta Steve Smith Stewart Copeland. You lucky duck you got to see yes during going for the one with Alan white at his absolute pinnacle
Going for the One in 1977… I have never been more jealous in my life. What an incredible album. And then I realize he’s wearing The Trick of the Tale tshirt. I have a new favourite drummer.
As a very skilled drummer myself, I get lost quickly in this man's technique and style...such an awesome drummer ...right up there with Bonham, and Pert...if not better
KC resident here. Gates is pretty good at 31st and Main. But also try Q39 or Jack Stack or our family's personal favorite Dunn Deal on Main in Grandview, MO.
I went to that concert in 1977 when they were touring for the album going for the one. Does Danny remember the color of the the drum set of yes that they had on that concert. It was green plus I have paper clippings of the that concert in the news paper.from the next day.
That smile, he's so nice! I kinda wish the interviewer was more interactive with him rather than just asking questions. He looks like a guy whom you'd talk to for hours after nodding at each other at the bar, hell, he'd probably be the one to break the ice too lol
The 1st time I seen a video of Danny playing I was truly and totally blown away! He is (in my personal opinion) the best drummer of all time. TOOL is my absolute favorite. Seeing them live before I die would make my life complete. They are the master's of their profession.
