We performed Danzon again about 4 months later in March at Symphony Center! We made a huge amount of growth and it honestly sounds a lot better then. If you're curious: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V_lU-ylYihk.htmlsi=PvUdpuJtgUUdLmHC
Amazing! been playing this with my local orchestra - we have 7 flutes 😆- and we all struggle with the bit between 6:13 and 6:43, it's chaos when 7 people are all slightly out. so gonna listen to this on repeat.
Thank you!! The orchestra version has flutes holding an A during the solo correct? That would make complete sense as to why thats so hard. In this arrangement of the piece it's just the solo during that part and nobody is holding long tones. I remembering finding versions like that and I thought it was interesting. Also that's so cool that you're playing danzon with an orchestra- I bet it sounds great!!
It's so fun to play! No I think we're doing the same version as you are here, so we all play this section but it's so tricky and syncopated that we're doing about 5 different rhythms 😆
Ohhh that makes sense. It is a tricky a section, a lot of times i feel somethings off. Its hard lining up all of the rhythms, but once its right it sounds really good!!
