Walking with Intention:
Unlike regular walking, Daoist walking meditation requires conscious movement. The practitioner walks slowly and deliberately, focusing on the sensation of the feet touching the ground.
Present Moment Awareness:
The practice centers on staying fully present. Pay close attention to the sensations in your body, the rhythm of your breath, and the environment around you. This awareness helps to quiet the mind, fostering a deep sense of connection with the world.
Grounded and Rooted:
As you walk, aim to feel a deep connection with the earth, as if you are rooted like a tree. This grounding sensation helps stabilize both your body and mind, providing a sense of balance and centeredness.
Harmony with the Environment:
Daoist walking meditation is often practiced outdoors, in natural settings. The practice emphasizes harmony with nature, encouraging you to attune yourself to the natural rhythms and energies of your surroundings.
Maintaining a Calm State of Mind:
Keep your mind calm and relaxed as you walk. If your thoughts begin to wander, gently bring your attention back to your breath and the act of walking. This mindful redirection helps maintain focus and tranquility.
Completion / Sealing:
After walking for a period, come to a gentle stop. Stand still for a few moments, taking several deep breaths to absorb the effects of the practice. Feel the positive energy circulating through your body, and express gratitude for the experience.

Norman, Your short videos, and this longer piece, impact me. I see a man, with great skills, working on the basics. I witness a practitioner working at a high level on things which, can be, simply stepping stones to the “fun stuff.” Breathing. Presence. Stillness. For me, a powerful reminder of what to work on today. Thank you.

Seems more like the very basic introduction to Bagua Circle walking preparation to me, which we do teach similarly to what you're doing to beginners before walking the Circle. If that's not what this is then I'd love to hear more because... As a 20+ Baguazhang practitioner I don't see what this does that Circle walking doesn't do, but in greater detail. Am open to hearing new ideas, however. Thanks for sharing.
