To those saying Dappy can't sing, why would Brian May choose him to do this cover with if he didn't think he can sing? He wouldn't just choose anyone.. and that Dappy is covering this song doesn't mean he's trying to be better than Queen.. it's just as a tribute.. Some people are so stupid
Personally, I don't think Brian May has become a sell out. The dudes worth a fortune, I'm pretty sure he doesn't need to do petty performances here and there to earn money. I really really tried so hard to hate this song because I've never been a fan of Dappy (I've met him and don't like him as a person, no insult to his music), but this is actually really good! Props to Brian May for continuing with Queen and diving into the deep end with performances like this. The guys obviously doing what he loves and he's doing a pretty damn good job of it as usual. If merging rock and rap isn't your kind of thing, then sure but I'm sure there will be people who listen to bands like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park who hate this purely because Dappy's in it. I say just give it a chance and if you don't like it, don't bother listening. :)
Sick Cover! Love how Dappy makes it his own, with his unic style and a rap where he shows his respect for legend freddie in the lyrics! Big up Dappy NaNa!
Im a big fan of this... Dappy is quality artist and has bags of talent. His talent didn;t show as much with Ndubz, but now hes a solo artist hes showing everyone he can sing and be successful, he writes and produces his own music. Brian May has enough experience to know who's good and who isnt.. its not like hes working with One Direction or something is it? this is for all those haters, quote from Brian May " This kid Dappy, is a lyrical genius. "
I enjoyed this very much. I admire Brian for breaking out of the mold & participating in the new sounds of today. I liked the rapping & it was a nice, new spin on the classic song. This was really quite good. And Brian's still got 'IT'....he can tear up a guitar like none other!
To whoever says that this cover ruined the song... It did not. it is actually really amazing and proves Dappy can sing aswell as rap amazingly. So before anyone tries to judge Dappy remember he did this cover with Brian May the legend himself and they both smashed it. Dappy is amazing and he did kind of make it his own. So don't hate on him cause as he says "i told you i can sing" and he is right unbelievable and amazing. This is my opinion so no haters please [:
I am not a massive n-dubz fan but i think that dappy has done an AMAZING job with this cover he really put his stamp on a classic track well done to dappy and keep rocking brian
Okay, so people are trying to make out that the original no longer exists and it's been replaced by this. The original will always be there, this is a live lounge cover, intended to be new, fresh and interesting! Brian obviously sees the talent in Dappy and wants to contribute to new music rather than sitting on his millions and doing nothing. For all the haters of Dappy, yeah he's said some stupid stuff but he's very successful taking his age and his background into account.
Tell you what. About 4 years ago dappy was some loud mouth Chav who couldn't rap. But I've grown to like him. Especially when he's pulling of stuff like that with a top legend Brian may. I do respect dappy and I jam to his tunes now. Not many people will beat queen like this but dappy sure gives it a go and in my eyes. That is better than some of the songs people are producing now. Nice goin dappy ;) :D
this is proof that dappy can have his good days and apart from 1:17 ... i think this is a fantastic take on the song...and brian mays improvisation is fucking outstanding! rock on dappy, and long live brian may!
You people need to stop hating. I'm not a giant Dappy fan. I am however, a giant Brian fan. And let's face it... if anybody can choose a good singer, it's Brian May.
Well that is just an insult to Brian May, then isn't it? I mean, Brian May is a professional and I'm sure he's not just working with Dappy JUST for the money. He obviously sees something great in Dappy, he's not an idiot. Fucking simple as that.
Brian is so shrewd! Whatever you, I or he really thinks of Dappy: Brian has just done what he always does... Which is to reach out to another generation with his music from a catalogue which sadly can't move on. But if by doing this he gets kids interested in the sound of live rock guitar, or the music of Queen, then it's job done!!! Good on you Sir Brian (surely one day?) ...And FWIW... I thought Dappy did a good job (But he's still a knob!)
Haters, Brian May wouldn't have picked him if he didn't think Dappy could sing it and rap it, but he smashed it and Brian May did a good choice in picking him. :D
I always use this to defend dappy haters when the legendary Brian may wanted to work with him it shows how talented he is no denying his made lot of mistakes and would be bigger if he didn’t but can’t deny his talent any track he features on becomes his own
'I told you I could sing' Hahaaa. Love it! It suits his voice. Catchy. Really like Rockstar too. Thumbs up if you don't really care that it's Dappy because it sounds blumming good anyway!
I wanted to really not like this, I mean Dappy 'singing' a Queen classic!! How wrong I was this is excellent and Brian May will always be amazing. Who knew that these two together would be so good :D
