Dararo: Gedeo's new year celebration 

Dararo is Gedeo community’s new year celebration.
It is a period of happiness and good wish of prosperity and new-year to the people. Dararo is festivity of transition from hardship to prosperity. The Gedeo community considers the environment as part their life. They believe in Mageno, the One Supreme God who created the world. Dararo is a celebration of this gift from Mageno. They thank him for his blessings and transitioning them to the new year.
This short video, filmed using mobile phone, shows the celebration of Dararo, at the capital of Gedeo zone, Dilla.
