But we can't compare Rajini's prime vs Vijay's Prime. I think Vijay will never give mega blockbusters like Rajini did, nor give movies as good as Padayappa, Baasha, Muthu, Annamalai, Sivaji, Thalapathy and many more. Now days Vijay gives box office hit rather than good cinema, social messages oriented movies are ruining his image of MASS entertainer. People and fans want Pure CINEMA, i wish Vijay does some mass movie with a big director, he can give all india hit movie if he wants. Bigil has wide appeal but was the movie good ? no, it's not even a Vijay movie. Bigil is a big hit but no where near what the fans and general audience excepts, and this is why Directors are miss using Vijay.
@@AssaultLeo You do have a point but Rajini's way of acting have influence many actors like Vijay, Ajith, Simbu, Sivakarthikeyan and even Dhanush at a certain point. Without Rajini, we would not gotten the actors we love today.

It's so true what this chap said at 6:32... Vijay emulated Rajini in his absentia! The reason why many don't understand this is because Rajini did only 8 films over 20 years (1996- 2016) most of which were also not typical Rajini films (except Padaiyappa and Shivaji).
