MJF roasting the Boston crowd was hilarious and how much he got a reaction out of them. Darby Allin appearing in disguise was perfect. Wardlow was the only one who had a bad feeling about an ambush.

I was just thinking that. I think his eventual turn is still on the horizon but the subtle long-term story telling has ALWAYS been an AEW strength in my book. The detail of Wardlow being surprised like everyone else and, in turn, getting grouped in as an "idiot" like the rest of Boston give REASON for his turn and I love this so much.

I don't hate Wardlow; even as his character, he's a guy being paid as a bodyguard for a pompous spoiled brat like MJF. With all the heelish acts he does, he does it because he is on MJF's payroll. Unlike Shawn Spears and FTR who genuinely love messing with people (kayfabe or real, I don't judge).

The fact that they didn’t let Wardlow in on the joke and then MJF calls everyone stupid for falling for it is brilliant. I can’t wait for this Wardlow face turn and MJF feud. The pop is going to be massive when he turns My only complaint from this segment is that it was to similar to the main event segment. I would have had MJF run away from Sting and then out of know where just before MJF goes through the heel tunnel Allin flys out of it with the drop kick you seen in his video, then MJF can escape and run through the crowd and trying to get the same fans he insulted to try and protect him.

I personally love the old-school heel booking for MJF. Win every time he's on TV so you hate his guts, then you buy the PPV to see him get his comeuppance. Also he said when he first started in AEW he wanted to be the kind of heel your grandma would spit on when she went to wrestling shows in the 80's and I think he's accomplished that goal.

Freaking awesome return. Darby and MJF are the two biggest stars for the future of AEW. Obviously stars of the present as well but I'm imagining Darby and MJF will feud over that world title sometime in the not so distant future.
