On December 5.6.7 of 2014, AGBU AYA Lebanon’s “Arine” dance group presented an original performance by the title of “Daredevils of Sassoun” - «ՍԱՍՆԱՅ ԾՌԵՐ». The 2 act dance performance depicted the Armenian national epopee of the same name, which was spread orally during almost a thousand years and reached our times by the effort of so many, Karekin Srvansdiants being the first one to collect and archive different versions of it in the late 19th century.
The epopee, as well as the dance performance is formed of 4 chapters telling the story of the heroic clan of Sassoun, conceived by a mortal mother and the forces of nature (water).
“Arine” dance group’s creation is the result of almost 2 years of research, intensive rehearsals and many hour of joint effort. The musical score of the show is put together by the Artistic director of the group Gayaneh Madzounian. She is as well, the creator of all choreography and costumes seen on stage. The script was written by Vartan Tashjian and the art production (set design, poster, music editing) was managed by Vartan Meguerditchian.
