#darjeeling Delights: Day 1 in the Queen of Hills! ️
Hey everyone, Dev and Gayu here! Welcome to the first day of our Darjeeling adventure! We flew from Aurangabad to Delhi and then on to Bagdogra. From there, we took a taxi to reach Darjeeling in the evening. ✈️
How to Reach Darjeeling:
By Air:Fly into Bagdogra Airport (IXB) which is the closest domestic airport. ✈️
By Train:Take a train to New Jalpaiguri (NJP) station and then a taxi or car to Darjeeling.
Things to Do in Darjeeling:
Witness a breathtaking sunrise from Tiger Hill. (Don't forget to bundle up!)
* *Ride the iconic Darjeeling Himalayan Railway - a UNESCO World Heritage Site!* (Stunning views guaranteed!)
* *Explore the bustling Chowrasta Square - the heart of Darjeeling.* ☕️ (Sample local delicacies and do some souvenir shopping!)
* *Indulge in a cup of world-famous Darjeeling tea at a charming tea estate.* (Learn about the tea-making process!)
* *Visit the serene Japanese Peace Pagoda for panoramic views.* ☮️
* *See the majestic Kanchenjunga peak, the world's third-highest mountain!* ️ (Weather permitting)
* *Stroll through the beautiful Botanical Gardens.*
* *Experience Tibetan culture at the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Settlement.* (Support local artisans!)
* *Hike through the scenic trails of Singalila National Park.* (For the adventurous souls!)
* *Take a cable car ride for a bird's-eye view of the town.*
*Day 1:*
Since we arrived in the evening, we decided to explore the lively Mall Road. There are rows of shops selling everything from souvenirs to woolen clothes. We also enjoyed some delicious street food - momos are a must-try! We'll be sure to explore more of Darjeeling's hidden gems in the coming days!
