I would love to see a post game show where the players walk the viewers through the strategy they had planned vs. what actually happened. Kinda like a commentary on their own game
Yeah like 20 minutes long or something, maybe a little segment about what players would have brought instead of certain units and where they felt their army was weakest
If it's any consolation, it was still a good game and i had to stop the vid 3/4 of the way through for work. So with the new premiere i'll be able to experience it fresh and at its best
I've never had any interest at all in this game, or playing it. However, the quality of your video made me watch until the end and I felt invested in the outcome of this game. This is very well done and a great watch.
This gonna be my favourite 40k TT channel. More actions, less talking (doesn't have to include every conversations), quick transitions, cool VFX and SFX, great editing, a very good caster, good players and no 2 - 3 hours videos.
The way he narrates the match like a ESPN episode truly keeps you immersed in the excitement of the match. Gotta say well done I been thinking about getting into 40k in your channel is really boosting my intrigue.
Love the deployment section with the onscreen units sidebar. And great work on a 9E competitive table of terrain, guys. This is the best one yet for variety and density.
Let's hope second time's the charm, hah! It really is an awesome battle, don't miss it guys! Jim's models are gorgeous too, shout out to our Champion of Chaos!
@@monkey_authority maybe he was so focused on his plan for going first that he had no backup for going second? You can only use The Hunt once, so he could have saved one unit but not more. Idk, but not using the jink invul or The Hunt really crippled his threat potential.
This is how you do it guys. Very nice, production value, you show the models on the board, third person narrator is great(especially one not in the room) gonna binge watch all yalls stuff now.
I have to say, above the gameplay the channel commentator really makes these game plays stand out proudly above all others I've seen. I'm new to the game and the voice over makes it come alive!! Like an old school sports caster from when I was a kid!
Great game with great guests! It's so interesting the difference between these competitive players and some of the more theatrical on the channel. There's a good place for both, well done!
Very cool DG (and friends!) army. Solid bat-rep. It's awesome seeing two top tier players faceoff, and the video editing and commentary was top-notch as usual. Ace.
Super game - love the competitive showdown. 2-3 hour batreps really need some big personalities like Beard or Mani, but this has to be the best format for the competitive guys! Allows us to see the tournament sharks show their personality and some cool tactics too. :D
I’d argue it’s not the best played, he basically threw his bikes away turn one and lost a ton of his army, not to mention the ability to pressure the plagueburst crawlers early game. Also the misstep that led to one of his inceptor squads not being able to shoot was huge. It was definitely very entertaining to watch, and nobody is going to play a perfect game.
Im late to the party! Playon is such an amazing channel! Really love your videos. But can we take a moment to appreciate the soundtrack on that deployment phase? That guitar riff was A M A Z I N G
I know you guys are the hardest workers in the batrep game. But could we get "to hit rolls" "to wound rolls" message when dice are rolling. gets a little confusing
I've been dumping what little extra money I have into my drum setup and guitar/bass rigs... Ya know what? I'm never gonna be a rockstar but I sure as shit can build a dark angels army! Thanks for all the quality content, I haven't played wh40k since the late 90s and now I'm seriously contemplating playing again. That is of course after i win the lottery or invest in a 3d printer lol.
I can see these two are professional. It took me a while to see why I couldn’t get into this episode, I think it’s the lack of banter between players. Back and forth is the draw for me apparently.
I liked it! It felt like they respected each other a lot, which is something I sometimes don't see in these sorts of mini war gaming videos! Always good to see opponents who respect the game.
Maybe target guidance strat? 2cp to add 1 to the ranged hits for a friendly dark angel unit if a landspeeder is within 18". Thing is I'm not sure if you need the landspeeder key word or it has to be specifically a land speeder i.e. does it work for talonmasters? Also maybe the talonmasters were gonna hang back. I assume landspeeder storms are the cheapest speeder and it was meant to buff the inceptors sice they loose the dark angel +1 to hit if they move.
A single land speeder or land speeder storm can do things like Engage on All Fronts or provide a very mobile 9" bubble of "no deep striking here". You can also throw them forward onto a mid-board objective on turn 1 as disposable throw away units. Tldr: they aren't there to do any damage and there's no master plan with them. You just use them to play the mission.
I'm breeze in and out of 40k every few years. It's amazing to see how much more dynamic the game has become with the command points, strategems etc. Much improved on some of the old editions
Same! Been out of the hobby for more than 10 years, out of the blue decided to look up a battle report. The table top game is almost unrecognisable from back in 4th edition haha

Hey folks! this was before o after of the faq, because if was after the faq i think that DeathShrouds they can receive Warptime over them. The new faq is change every instances of Heretic astartes for
I suggest the Moth Man himself. He's basically a flying squad of Deathshrouds that shuts down most auras around him and can melt squads of chaff just by breathing on them
