The only way out as i see it is too grind and invest and live a frugal lifestyle. Im now 30 and soon able too live on my "passive" income wich really isnt all that passive all the times but less than stress than an average 9-5 job. I will keep working maybe 5 more years then maybe work 3 days a week just to get out and meet people. In glad i never got "trapped" by a big mortage or fancy cars and stuff i ride my bicycle and live in a studio apartment by the ocean thats all i need.

The worst job I’ve ever had was when I was bullied at my job for being new. Multiple women would gossip and lie about me , and at some point have tried to get me in trouble with my boss. It was a toxic clique to be wrapped up in, because I was the main target. Eventually, when I went up to my boss about the last woman that bullied me, they pulled me in for a meeting about my “behavior” and how I was great at my job but “problematic” in a “team based environment”… worst thing I could have possibly done was stay at that job. They basically victim blamed me and lengthened my probation when I worked there for 6 MONTHS. 6 months of hell on earth honestly. I was relieved and happy I left. Never ever settle for a toxic work environment for the paycheck. They even fucked up my last paycheck, and if I didn’t correct them they would have stolen my money.

Same….they say “you just have to find the right one” but it is costly money wise. I’ve found the gym and just doing stuff outside really helps…. It’s cliche but it’s true.

To me it felt like talking to an actor reading from a script. Sure, just like you said you have to find the right one. But that's easier said than done. I'm not dismissing that a therapist can be great for some people, but for me and for the issues I was dealing with, it was nothing but a waste of my time and my money. Going to the gym can for sure work in some cases.

@@hissatsu4937 yea I know, I haven’t bothered since either. To me, I could have found the same comfort talking to a close friend at the bar for free. I didn’t get any real useful advice or anything out of it. Mine was in college and the situation was temporary, sometimes you don’t need therapy just need to find ways to cope healthily like exercise etc. or bear it if it’s a temporary situation like a breakup or layoff.

Sincerely, if you don't connect with your therapist, it's a waste of time. Still, if you manage to find the right one, that understands you and gets to your level, it really can be liberating. Therapy can help you unravel the roots of your problems, often in younger life, and overcome the scars and coping behaviours that do not serve you anymore. Sometimes it's just about relating your life to someone, and you need to hear those "it's ok to feel this way, but it shouldn't be lie that, it is not normal, and you can do something about it". In the end, it is someone that is going to support you into unfucking your life by yourself, by giving you the good insights and techniques, at the right time. You are the only one that is going to need to "eat the frog" and put in the work, but having support can help tremendously. I share my personal experience, I do not use therapy anymore, but it helped me. Now that I'm in a relatively good place, I know I have to stick to good habits, and that there are times better than others. Keep it up, it's your life, it's your very own game you're playing.

Therapy is not for men. The gym and a boxing bag is for men. Brotherhood and accountability, responsibility is for men. When there are people who appreciate and respect us, then we become happy. That's why I have my passport book. Life is hell for a 5'2" adult male in the USA.
