This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. Donald Lang Were they trying to imply in Apocalypse that Jean always had much stronger telekinetic and telekinesis powers, abilities with fire too, but was just holding back because she was afraid of letting go? Then in this movie, she is corrupted by the Phoenix Force which drives her insane entirely and makes her powers unstoppable and out of control? It’s a bit of a weird way of coming at it, but I was thinking maybe that’s what they were going for!

It's really shame that this may be the last X-Men film to produced by Fox (and Disney's first ever distributed it). Sure some of the films were meh, but also good films. So long Fox's X-Men franchise, it's been fun journey and thanks for everything.

There was a time when I was invested in Fox's X-men...that time has long past. Honestly it just feels like they're making this movie because they feel some obligation to give a finale, I don't feel like any of the actors or creators are passionate anymore.

Having watched all the previous X-Men films(a few of which several times over)i'm not gonna miss this'un out. I can't see it doing justice to the original classic comic-book story & Sophie T is no match for Famke J(in this role)but i'm still looking forward to watching it on the big screen regardless. Fassbender's Magneto is always fun to watch!

"Jean used the phoenix aura in Apocalypse." Yeah, she did. My thought on it is that the phoenix we saw is just a physical manifestation of her powers anyway. Maybe it's this that draws the cosmic Phoenix Force to her? I'm still convinced Jessica Chastain's character is a human-like manifestation of the Phoenix Force anyway, goading her into unleashing all of its powers.

So, who are we thinking Jessica Chastain is? In 2017, IMDb had her rumored to be Lilandra, but a few people think she's either Jason Wyngarde in disguise or the female Mastermind who was JW's daughter... I would LOVE for her to be Lilandra, but considering they've cast Selene and other members of the Hellfire Club, now I'm thinking maybe she *is* Mastermind... My excitement has been turned up to 11, man!

I think wolverine will be on this movie as seen in apocalypse he might show. I hope this sequel end with a good story and has explanation that jean already had the phoenix in her then turned into dark phoenix because of personal issues and struggle and the manipulation of someone.

I'm not sure. Especially with the large number of comics and timelines its confusing, but I do know that for some time Jean had the Phoenix powers and used the name, but was not evil.
