@@utsuroid Oh you're right, Aleksander's gun travels a lot. Young Aleksander > Hannah > Stranger/Adam > Agnes (kills Noah with it) > Adam (kills old Eva with it) > Alt Martha (kills Quantum Jonas with it). From there it gets complicated. Claudia kills alt Claudia, and then I don't know anymore.
@@hi.923 I think it's the same sphere but it got split by the loophole too. Sic Mundus designs it, it gets created somehow (maybe by alt Tannhaus), Magnus and Franziska get ahold of it somehow (either Sic Mundus created it and they were the first to use it, or an agent of Eva gives them one of the spheres at some point), and then they give it to alt Martha. She splits, one of the spheres is now with the Martha who becomes Eva and one of them is with the Martha who is killed by Adam. In the timeline in which the cycle continues, Adam uses dead Martha's sphere to travel to Eva's world, kills Eva, and presumably commits suicide. Eva says Martha finds her corpse, so she also finds the sphere. Now there are two spheres in Eva's possession.
I just watched another video that explains the time machine timeline but I can now see yours is superior. Fills in many more details and explains a lot more. With good evidence. Remarkable work
Most people talk about cycles, repeating cycles, but i think there's no such thing. Theres no cycles. We see thing happens like a cycle because we are out, we are observers. We can see they going through time. But if you see between the eyes of one of them, there's no cycle. They life is complete, even with time travel, they won't repeat their lives. Martha has bourn, knew young Jonas, old Jonas, killed by Adam.
So, does this mean the broken machine ends up with Tannhaus, which may or may not have repaired it? If so, in 2020, it was probably still somewhere in his store, waiting to be found by Charlotte! Unfortunately, it is probably destroyed for good in the 2020 apocalypse
Great explanation! I loved the format of the explanation it really clears everything and I appreciate the work which has went into this. I've been rewatching this series and it's incredible how much I overlooked the first time. I've been finding so many clever references which boggles my mind how a person could've come up with such a complex yet very interesting idea for a show. And the fact that this is the first Netflix original from Germany also has paved the path for future German shows.
The machine was left in the Sic Mundus headquarters since adult Jonas arrived there in 1888. It stayed there even after sic mundus left the place, so Claudia just picked it up from the abandoned headquarters in 2053 (at the beginning of the scene you can see her closing the backpack with the machine inside). Then she traveled to 1987 using the golden sphere or the god particle, and there she refilled the machine while talking to younger Claudia in order to make it work again, as seen in 10:00
@@brianbohorquez9450 but the unknowns burnt the sic mundus HQ as shown at 0:46 then how did Claudia got the time machine from there in 2053 because the time machine would also have got destroyed in the fire. 🤔
Noah before giving it to Bartozs used the time machine to to the experiences with the Child between 1986 and 2019. Everyone is okey ? Bit then he gave to Bartosz the machine ( we dont see the scene and it s a problem) because later (2 days after) he goes back to 1921 to die HOW ????
As I understand it, for a time there are two time machines in the past. The empty one Jonas and the kids used to travel to 1888, and the one Hannah uses to travel to 1911. Old Jonas kept using Hannahs machine. (He gives it to Noah.) But the empty machine is just being stored somewhere in the Sic Mundus HQ. It miraculously survives the fire set by the Unknown and then just lies dormant there in the ruins until Claudia retrieves it more than 100 years later in 2053.
It stays in HG's shop unless he gets rid of it. There should've been a scene of Charlotte finding it in season 2 but I think if everyone in season 2 had a version of it we'd roll our eyes so they decided not to do it or they didn't think about it
Because if you remember she never went to talk to Adam before, she went for the first time. So to end the cycle, she kind of divided herself, and one old Claudia went here to her younger Claudia (this one will die because of Noah) and the other old Claudia will give the Ball to Adam, and that's the end of the series.
@@alejandroarguesocano4469 That's incorrect. Even though she says this is new, Claudia has "always" done this, as the timeline in which the knot is destroyed is also part of the knot, in the same vein as Eva's use of the loophole also being part of the knot. The knot is in a superposition of existence/nonexistence, in the same way Jonas and Martha are both dead/alive. There are several reasons we know this, one of the most obvious ones is that Jonas and Martha influenced their 2006 selves while in the wormhole and they remember this, indicating their actions are not brand new and have always happened. Their 2006 selves obviously exist before Claudia split the timeline, thus this influence is part of the knot. Further supporting this is the fact that the official Dark website ( dark.netflix.io/en ) states there is no "clone" of Claudia. Old Claudia sent Adam to destroy the knot, then introduced herself to her past self, then gave herself the time machine, then got killed by Noah. Everything she did in season 2 (except meeting Jonas in episode 6) happened _after_ she talked to Adam. This means most of her actions throughout the series, actions that are integral to the knot's existence, happened after she supposedly broke the knot. There are plenty of other examples like this. For instance, we see the Adam and Eve painting in Erit Lux has been burned by 2053, and we find out that the Adam that is sent by Claudia is the one who burns it. See this timeline for an idea of how this works: i.imgur.com/0FXmaNR.jpeg The way the "cloning" works is if you time travel to the loophole, a reality/timeline is created where you show up, while in the main timeline you don't show up. If you then time travel out of the loophole from this split timeline, you rejoin the main timeline. If you take someone or something with you, this alternate timeline person/object is now in the main timeline. This is the only explanation that makes sense. People who time travel into the loophole, such as Bartosz or Claudia, don't clone themselves. But people in the loophole that are taken out of it by a time traveler, such as the split Jonas and Martha, do clone themselves. We also must make the assumption that time traveling _out_ of the loophole, while still being in the main timeline, will create an alternate timeline when you arrive at your "destination," explaining how Claudia can split Adam in 2053. Dispensing with the idea that there are repeating "cycles" is also something you might find yourself leaning towards. Almost everyone in the series believes events are repeating in a tangible way, to the point that Jonas is convinced for much of his life that he can break the cycle "this time." Eva does what she does because she believes she'll continually be reborn. But this is possibly untrue. It is correct to say that time is nonlinear and so information (be it genetic information or blueprints for a time machine) caught in bootstrap paradoxes have no discernible origin. Chicken and the egg. But everyone and everything in the show has their own "subjective" timeline that is linear and this timeline does not loop. Jonas is born and then he dies. Jonas does not loop his consciousness back into his unborn self. Jonas has a beginning and an end. Likewise, none of the time traveling objects in the show physically get stuck in a bootstrap paradox. The information that created them might, such as Tannhaus' book or the portable time machine, but the objects themselves have a beginning and an end. The book Claudia gives Tannhaus ends up eroding away on some shelf, it does not find its way back into Claudia's hands. The time machine breaks and stays with Tannhaus, Jonas does not take back the old one. A better way of thinking of it is "time is happening all at once." We tend to think of time as a line continually being extended. Many people think of Dark's timeline as a circle. Some think of Dark's timeline as a coil, each loop feeding into the next. All of these are wrong. Imagine an infinitely long piece of paper. Now imagine that God has an infinitely long stamp. God takes his infinite piece of paper and stamps a line onto it, the line is created all at once. That's time. Everything that will or has happened is stamped into existence. From any one point's perspective, the line ahead of it is the future and the line behind it is the past, but this is only relative. So there are no "cycles" in Dark. Adam and Eva aren't reborn infinitely. They interact with themselves nonlinearly and they create their lineage, but they are not reborn in any way other than the logical/philosophical idea that time is eternal and thus all things living within it live on eternally within their respective times (as Heinrich Tannhaus puts it). To answer the question of how Claudia time travelled without her sphere, she had two main options. Adam could have dropped her off or she could have prepared for the trip by getting cesium beforehand. (Also necessitating that she took Adam, or Adam took her, to June 22 so she'd be aligned with the 33 year cycle. She also could have traveled to any point post-apocalypse to use the God Particle, as she knew how to activate it.)
281 years roughly if you consider it's starting point in 1953 when he first starts building it. 248 years if you consider when it first starts being used as a time travel device. That wood fucking endured.
Or to start it because of the book on time travel that was already finished in the future. Everything is based off of Noah's chair. Noah's chair doesn't work til other things happen. Noah wouldn't be on his quest if there wasn't interference from people like Jonas. The caves that they are using while Noah is building his time machine only exist because of of Noah's time machine. Tanhauses machine is based on plans which are a revision of the chair.

@@nineteenct Do you mean in past as in our Dark universe Past==Future==Present (Everything is Connected) . Just kidding friend, will never get bored with this show😄😄
one question, how did the smart phone worked for 33 years to be used with time machine, when adult Ulrich left it in 1953. Nowadays, they don't even work for 10 years properly.
How did Jonas's machine (with no fuel) travel from 1888 to 2053? Was it hidden in the Sic Mundus HQ for 165 years? Also, was it shown in the series, that Eva sent Hannah to 1911 (forgive me if it was, but I don't remember it)?
It wasn‘t shown, but Hannah tells that she got a visit from an old lady called Eva when she arrives in 1911. Eve told her where (or when) to find Jonas.
4:33 Hannah goes to 1954, not 1953 9:38 Claudia travels from Time machine, not golden time travel sphere. She already gave the sphere to Adam (2) this scene (9:22) is of 22nd June 2053, not the one where she meets Adam in 2053 (September) One more thing: Between 1911 & 1920, Sic Mundus had two Tannhaus machines (the "older" one Jonas arrives with in 1888, which stays there until 2053 & the "younger" one when Hannah arrives with it in 1911, which Noah takes in 1920 to Bartosz) Bizarrely, the Samsonite suitcase the machine is kept in, almost happens in the reverse. Middle Jonas places the new "young" machine into the "old" Samsonite, until eventually Claudia places the "old" time machine into the new Samsonite for the first time when she digs it up. You can see a slightly modified Tannhaus device in S2:E4(see below link). Adam possibly altered it himself by combining the solenoid-looking rods from the chair that go around the eyes to create the EMP. He presumably refined this design, which would explain why Claudia doesn't need a mobile phone to use it after this point - since that was needed to generate an EMP, as stated by Tannhaus. She does take the machine from the Sic Mundus HQ in S3:E8, when she was with her younger self (2040 Claudia). preview.redd.it/uc6x3x6pbjs81.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=9a1c53c3f60c6765b2bbfb677b0eac00f3b34838
@@angriffslusticherWildoger Claudia can literally pick the fuel from 1986 inside the caves. She had the golden orb so she can take fuel as much and as many times as she wants
I watched this show over a couple weeks this summer and I plan on watching it again once my school semester starts, simply the best piece of television I’ve ever had the pleasure of viewing
I'm pretty confident Claudia retrieves the Machine in 2052 from Sic Mundus and travels back to June 2019 through God's particle (or maybe with the apple?) to get to Jonas and Michael. Then they travel or stay together to mantain the continuum (making Mikkel disappear, reaching for Peter and Tronte in the Bunker) for a year, until they travel together from 2020 to 1987, where Claudia meets her younger self and then travel back to 1954, while Jonas lays low (and can't travel since Claudia has the machine they used together) for a couple of days, waiting for the moment he has to get to younger Claudia.
I have a hard time understanding how Noah's chair in the bunker fits into all of this. Why does he need to create the chair if they already have a time travel device? Would really like a video on that.
He still need to do it for the sake of the loop to happened again. Though I get you mean, it was kinda useless if we didn't consider about the loop thing..
When was the time machine created? The Bootstrap Paradox continues to flow in an endless loop through time. My favorite timeline loop in Dark is Charlotte’s when she gives birth to her second daughter (and later revealed to be her mother), Elisabeth.
Thanks so much. Now I can confirm that from 1888 to 2053, the time machine with no fuel has been upgraded by Adam from "need cell phone version" to "no need cell phone version". However, I am still not clear that, since Cesium-137 can be used as fuel of time machine or open the god particle portal, when alt Martha left the fuel to middle ages Jonas, why didn't he use it as fuel to leave 1888 but use it to open the god particle portal? Of course, the old Jonas aka Adam want to keep the things happened exactly the same as the previous cycle, but for middle age Jonas and the teenagers, they just want to leave 1888. Moreover, it is quite strange that why they went to 1888 but not the other time to escape from apocalypse in 2000 in the first place.
If they leave 1888 they must to go to 1921 first, so to 1954, to 1987 SO THAN THEY FINALLY arrive in 2020 Normally the machine works 33 years fowards and 33 years backwards. But in the moment of the apocalypse The Stranger and the others travel directly from 2020 to 1888 (at least it was what I get it for) At this point it's easy to know why the stranger choose to use the CS137 to recreate the god's particle in stead of use it in the apparat

He realised that every suffering is necessitated by this origin, that's why when he learnt that there's another world too when she met Alt Martha, he was totally committed in annihilating everyone. That's why he was ready to do anything like killing Martha & his mom. He wanted to end everyone's suffering. He knew the knot can't be severed but can only be destroyed completely.
@Syed Amaan No I don't think it stayed there for 165 years. I think When Adam, Adult Franziska, Adult Magnus and Adult Agnes travelled from 1921 to 1953 headquarters they took the Machine. Well to be honest I don't know exactly but I think this might be one of the cases.
I truly hope your amazing page is getting the credit it EXTREMELY deserves ! Thank you for your hard work and amazing time lines please please keep them coming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great Video! One Flaw I recognized.... You state Claudia held onto the blue prints for 12 years before she brought them to Tannhaus in 1953. But she actually traveled to 2053 with the orb immediately after receiving the blue prints and handed them off to older Claudia. (as seen in your video @ the 9:10 mark)
what happened to sic mundus time portal? was it still there in the year 2019(as 2020 Jonas appeared from there)?so they could have used that for time travel during the post apocalypse.
I just noticed it now what young Silja was wearing when she and Hannah went to see Jonas kinda like reminds me of what Marty was wearing in Back to the future... hehehe
amazing video. I've never thought a lot of the machine timeline , I just assumed that it somehow made sense. But now I do realize it makes completely sense.
Eirikr Vicente After Jonas met his father again in 2019 he and claudia spend one year together to make sure that certain events go the way they are supposed to. Before the Stranger manages to close the passage in 2019 he and claudia travel to the 80s (through the passage!) and wait over six months until the adult claudia accidentally kills egon in his apartment. Elder Claudia gives the keys to her house to jonas and... thats it! 🙂
So the blueprints were made in base of the time machine that Adam had...then Claudia gives that prints to Tannhaus who created it in base to his own creation, and then the old and new time machine who are the same but in different states, meet each other when Jonas Stranger meets Tannhaus.. (? This series is amazing
Awesome work. Can’t believe how much work went into this video, and into the show in the first place. Just one question: If Claudia only went to Adam ONCE in 2053 as she herself told Adam, how did she get the time machine and take it to Tannhaus in the PREVIOUS cycles? Or does the entire arc of Claudia taking it to Tannhaus happen only ONCE?
That’s a question of mine as well, how does the meeting between 2041 Claudia and Old Claudia happen when Old Claudia *hasn’t* talked to Adam, or if it happens at all, since Quantam Entanglement causes two cases I’ve been curious with that since, with what method does Old Claudia meets her younger self in 1987? We assume that the last time she uses the Orb she stole from alt Claudia, was when she handed it to Adam. And at least in one case, that same Old Claudia meets the 2041 Claudia and tells her she’s already sent Adam to fix everything. Does 2041 Claudia *always* meet the version of herself that takes the time machine from Sic Mundus HQ? But from this video, I think we somehow assume 2041 Claudia always drops off Old Claudia (with her *own* Orb she recently acquired) in the year 1987. She brings the oldest version of herself there, then goes back to her time to ensure the loop continues as it should so she can ultimately become the person she must.
Claudia set herself on a different path when time froze for a second, this caused 2 scenarios, one where she does what all other Claudia’s has done, and one where she went and met Adam instead.
The entire series is based on the fusion of entangled particle and the loop multiverse concept. In the space travel there would be 2 scenarios i will erase my self (in the moment i violate the causation principle) or i will survive creating an alternative timeline. In both scenarios cause effect coherence is preserved there is always a beginning. The third stable universe (where Tannhaus broke space-time) is a coherent universe meanwhile in the entangled dual loop-universe that principle is broken. In this scenario the time machine is a sort of quantistic fluctuation an event generate from nothing that is present in the entagled way in both eve and adam universe. In this way all that stuff make sense. In this reasoning the last scenes make sense because Martha and Jonas in the stable universe time-travelling broke the coherence principle and they succedto end their origin looped multiverse. Without the time machine the Martha and Jonas multiverse could be possible but as a parallel alternative linear timelines (so more different from the actual story). Btw also a linear multiverse can have a junction points (like the movie "Sliding doors") but that is another story...
Is it crazy that Hannah gave up the pendent, then the machine, then died, then Katarina used the machine, eventually reached the pendent, then died as she encountered the pendent? Does this mean Hannah's cursed or what?
