I’m just getting into classical music more and more, so I’m embarrassed to say I’ve only heard of a few of these pieces and composers. How did you find them all? Did you study music in university?
In case anyone was wondering, the castle in the playlist is the Hohenzollern Castle in Germany. Great music btw, it's putting me in a fantasy writing mood. Very inspired.
Thank you so much for getting me through finals. They were a struggle, but the constant flow of dark and depressing music somehow turned me into an essay machine.
Jonathan and Gabrielle, I experienced those same essay and final term blues long ago in 1960. I found that Rachmaninov was one of my best choices to play while reading all the materials and studying my class notes as I should have months before, if you get my drift. Bet you were more mature. Hope you aced your exams and are off to a great new career soon. Best wishes for a rewarding life. Fondly, a grandma ❤️🇺🇸
Upon hearing the first few bars of this music my cat (Emma) gave a massive stretch, turned her head towards the music and curled into a blissful ball. I can think of no higher praise.
this playlist is giving me the vibe of living in a palace during winter. it's smells like rain, fancy everyday outfits, expensive furniture and jewelry and taking rich life as obvious. i really feel like a princess while listening to this, thank you so much!!
We love that for you, that's exactly the vibe we were going for! 🏰✨ For more of that dark royal feeling we recommend this mix as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ty81ibUn75E.html ...and maybe a touch of Dark Academia too? 👉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XGC80iRS7tw.html
This is perfect music to study to late at night, it's just interesting and dramatic enough to keep me awake but not crazy to the point where it drowns things out or makes it hard to focus. Plus there are somehow some songs on here I haven't heard of! Usually I recognize everything in playlists like this so it's nice to be surprised!
Thank you Sam, we're glad to hear that you find our compilation enjoyable and interesting. 25:23 is my fav. It’s like the type of piece you would go ball room dancing to. To go ballroom dancing would be really dope actually and get dressed up 🥰
the fact that human beings can master a craft/instrument so well they are able to play this on such a close level to perfection is truly amazing, salute to all the musicians performing this, may God bless you
Much gratitude for putting this exceptional compilation together for our enjoyment. I came across this last night as I was falling asleep. These high quality recordings, together with my hi-fi headphones, the darkness in my room and the cool outside breeze blowing in... made for some surreal moments as I went in and out of sleep. I remember a brief dream of playfully running at night through some heather around the castle in this video.... My long olive dress, with a suitor in tow. Good times! 😉
What a gorgeous compilation! It sweeps through your mind and gives you visions of great homes and scenery and the most sweeping vistas of green expanse. I really love this one.
Thank you Kristi!! Have you given our new "Dark Academia Classical Music" mix a listen as well? 👉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iq43a4qUh7E.html
Images of waltzing round with head held high in the arms of a dashing dancing gentleman in the grand ballroom inside this magnificent castle... to the compelling strains of this music... much gratitude to you Halidonmusic people, may you long continue to compile music so perfectly!
Thank you for this, Halidon! This music will certainly make a nice backdrop for another ominous scene in my book. I feel like I am in that castle as I listen to this. It is pure elegance. Thank you!
Oh yaay, we're so happy to hear it - we love ominous scenes! And isn't the feeling of being swept away to a magical place as the music plays just wonderful? Be it endless lavender fields or charming old castles, we just love to close our eyes and dream... Hope you have a great start of the week, thank you for listening!

Okay, Halidon friends..... this stunning music has me thinking about the one I told myself I'd try to forget. Ahh well....if I cannot have great love, maybe I'll settle for good poetry 💘📚🖋️
Jʻadore beaucoup des musique Halidon! My family is all native hawaiian folk singers that make happy hawaiian music. I have always been obsessed with dark classical music since I was a toddler and would conduct symphonies to my imaginary friends and childhood toys. My ancestors are all warlords from around the globe (royalty lmfao) and I donʻt see one great grandparent that was a classical music composer. Iʻm kinda jaded about that hahaha.
Thank you so much and yes, isn't it wonderful? 😍 You close your eyes for a second and suddenly you're in the great, brightly-lit ballroom twirling around in your beautiful dress 💃
At this time, some of these interpretations aren't my favourite ones of these pieces. But it's still an interesting and inspirational compilation to listen to while writing or just letting my thoughts roam. 🎶🐾
No Ruth, you're definitely not the only one ✨ For more of that royal feeling we recommend our "Royalty Core" (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zlc5Ae4uh8E.html )and our "Classical Music for Kings and Queens" (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kK0bAT67aGQ.html ) collections 👑

You're not the only one who has pointed out the similarity, Ellen! Personally we would love for Litvinovsky to compose the theme for the next Bond film - no doubt he'd come up with something epic. He is a Belarusian composer of contemporary classical music and we definitely recommend you check his work out: you can find him on Spotify and here on RU-vid 😊 - Tales of the Magic Tree: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IvO__uNG3ew.html - Le Grand Cahier: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PHmqZ5wo5pE.html - Pélleas et Mélisandre: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hW4b6YFt5_8.html
He's absolutely awesome...... somehow I am always dreaming about a fantastical, mindful Ghibli film with a Soundtrack made by Livinovsky..........one can dream.
Thanks Sam, happy you like the mix! More classical music with a dark vibe can be found here 👉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Yf02IIL-fNI.html

On "Le Grand Cahier": X. L'Incendie I was immediately reminded of the Avengers theme. Before the signature "victory fanfare" part, there is a "race of strings" that represents the heat of battle, that seems heavily inspired by this part!
Thank you Eric, we're glad you like the playlist! We have a new Dark Academia playlist up on our channel if you want to give it a listen: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e_GjN5Nhqt4.html

“There is neither happiness nor misery in the world; there is only the comparison of one state with another, nothing more. He who has felt the deepest grief is best able to experience supreme happiness. We must have felt what it is to die, Morrel, that we may appreciate the enjoyments of life. Live, then, and be happy, beloved children of my heart, and never forget, that until the day God will deign to reveal the future to man, all human wisdom is contained in these two words, 'Wait and Hope.” ― Alexandre Dumas
Hello there, glad that you find the title interesting! Quoting the website 'aesthetics fandom', "Royalty Core is a term referring to a group of aesthetics based on the visuals of West European royalty, ranging from Arthurian times (5th and 6th centuries) to the Belle Époque period (late 19th century). This aesthetic mainly focuses on visual characteristics and contexts of historical European monarchies, placing particular emphasis on castle structure and the surrounding grounds." The addition of "Dark" gives the whole aesthetic a mysterious and adventurous vibe inspiring visions of knights and princesses, epic quests, kingdoms to defend and charming but deadly enemies ready to attack... or at least we hope it does!
