It sickens me that all the comments are full of people outraged about the LGBTQ story when there's a story about someone being sexually assaulted. Apparently people are more upset about the controversial gay couple then the woman being touched inappropriately

Love teddy was the original title but the rest is not true. The first title was love teddy and I don't remember what Charlie's original name was but it was something much more girly. Disney decided to modify it so it would be more boy friendly and not just for girls.

Good Luck Charlie is is one of my favorite Disney Channel shows ever.

I first watched the lesbian episode when i was very young. And during that time i had never heard of or seen a gay couple. So at first I was confused. I asked my older sister who was watching with me and she explained that some girls like girls and some boys like boys. And looking back at that, it just amazes me that my small child mind excepted it admittedly. I'm growing up to support the LGBTQ+ community as someone who's not apart of it. All because I was taught about it in a positive way. Children are influenced easily, so if people around them are constenly telling them it's bad there's a good chance they will think it is. Of course this is not always the case, because as people grow, so does their opinion. The point is that Good Luck Charlie made the most perfect choice in making that episode, and it was the stupid homophobics that complained that were wrong. We're all humans and we all deserve love.

Maybe they should start not allowing romance between a man and a woman on the show since seeing them kiss is gonna be so 'inappropriate'. Or holding hands, y'know maybe they shouldn't even communicate and be 50 miles away from each other. If same sex couples are not welcomed then that is teaching kids to not welcome differences and teaches them to be cruel and turn someone away that has a different preference.

Saying that a same sex couple on the show is a " dark secret " is very disrespectful. It is not bad for kids to be exposed to same sex couples it should be encouraged to accept them and know its a normal thing.

There are Disney shows like Austin & Ally and such AND contain straight romance, yet you say that if they made a show like Austin & Ally but it was Austin & Callum or something they'd be disturbed? That is the reason there should be more shows with gay couples! If they don't see them on TV then they'll most likely be disturbed when they see a gay couple in real life, which they will definitely see! To be honest, if I had kids I'd want them to watch shows like that, so if they're confused about their own sexuality or if they see a gay couple in their lives, they won't be 'disturbed' as you put it.

It's funny when people talk about how politics should never be in kids tv shows but only for topics, they don't like. Know one was upset as Michelle Obama appeared on multiple kids shows because it was "positive" but the same sex couple is "negative"? that's so biased and unfair. (BTW I'm not bashing Ms. Michelle, I thought the ICarly episode about the children of soldiers was so nice.) True, certain topics should definitely be handled with care, such as criminals, race, sexuality, and a host of other topics, but pretending like those topics don't exist i everyday life would just cause children to grow up either naive/ignorant or untrusting/rebellious.

Not even in the matter that same sex parents is "something to teach your kids about" their are children with same sex parents that feel isolated and unrepresented in the media. As said, the media and what kids see have a big impact on their lives. As a child, not being able to see someone that looks like you or is in a situation likes you can harm children's self esteem.

One secret I think you guys should add is that the people from Disney asked the mom of Mia to conceive another child just for the purpose of the show since they wanted the kids to look alike. The mom of course said no to them because she didn't feel it was right to do so just for the show. I know this because I am friends and went to school with Mia's cousins who are triplets and told us all about the situation. I even got to meet Mia when they invited me over to their birthday celebration party. She is such a sweetheart!

When I saw that episode, I didn't have a second thought about two moms. I have recently learn more about the LGBT+ community, also learning that I am a part of it. Now, I'm very proud of Disney for taking that step they had never taken before, so casually. This episode is never on during reruns (on the rare occasion, when that happens). But now we have Andi Mack, and Cyrus. Cyrus is the gay smol bean we must all protect. Deal?

I'm actually really happy that a same sex couple was a part of a disney show. It was just the right sprinkle of it, too! =D I am aware of how this could be viewed as too much if they were the main featured family but as a background couple in a show geared for children who are old enough to know that its out there, I find this doesn't upset me at all. Not that it does for me but granted I babysit ever now and again and am at an age where having a baby of my own is the push button (Ya hear that ma! I'll have one when I feel like!) but as this is kids tv this was a perfect first step to having kids with same sex parents have that "AHA!" moment and suddenly their world gets to grow because it's okay to be that kid and it's okay that there are other parents out there who are that same sex couple and a little bit at a time, it starts to not be viewed as a taboo atrocity but just another day in the world. I never met a kid who prefers green over yellow to be met with protesters for it so maybe one day the world of tv will suck it up and viewers won't feel like they're watching a salacious scandal even though there's no one's even nude or going at it right on screen. One day a boy can fall in love with a boy or a girl can fall in love with a girl and it will be okay because love isn't governed by an unwritten set of rules. It's how someone feels and if it's love, who are we to stand in the way? Who do we think we are to judge someone for love? Love. Is. And it always has been and will continue to happen regardless of what anyone else outside of it feels. So if Disney is teaching love, I'm all for it. They could be teaching worse.
