Angelique was very beautiful and charming and deadly! A delicious combination. She wielded such great, supernatural powers and would never hesitate to use them to do her enemies in.
Angelique played by Lara Parker is the perfect witch & quite beautiful. Lara Parker is truly talented in the part and I wish she had more movies that showcased her talent.
Udui1o1 Under other circumstances, I would agree. However, in many ways, Ms. Parker and most of the DS cast, were spared the pitiful trappings of being a superstar.
Michele Anderson I totally agree, when Professor Stokes told Barnabas/Julia that Eve was the re-incarnation of Danielle Roget, the evilest woman in the 18th century, Eve didn't even compare to be Angelique, just because she was repulsed by Adam didn't make her evil.
Leonardo's Truth You seem to forget, that on DS, people stayed or returned because of the popularity of the character (Barnabas, Julia, Angelique, Quentin, etc.) or the actor who played a popular character that was killed off, but came back as other characters (Don Briscoe, Chris Pennock, Humbert Astredo, etc.)
wish I could have met jonathin fridd n Lara Parker in person Lara was perfect for Angelic that laugh she had was great and those big beautiful green eyes for placing curses there will never be another dark shadows that made kids stay healthy from running home from school to get home in time for dark shadows
Elizabeth was my favourite character but when Lara Parker turned up as Angelique for the first time I realised she is my favourite character and actress from the show
Funny how Lara Parker puts the smack down on Humbert Alan Astredo in the 1890s (Angelique vs. Evan), after we saw how she was dominated by him in the 1960s (Cassandra vs Nicholas).
Surely this scene was joyous for Parker to play against Astredo. After many months of her Angelique being stripped of power -and even slapped around!- by his Nicolas Blair, here he was as a powerless character, whom she seems to take immediate annoyance with and can totally make dance on HER strings. I suspect, if necessary for even the flimsiest reason, Parker would have been robustly willing to re-film it 20 times!
dvlaries Absolutely loved the scenes with her and Nicholas, she wasn't afraid of him and regardless be of the many punishments he inflicted on her, she had her own agenda and Nicholas be damned!!!
huh. It was 41 years after the first vampire movie and like 30 years after Bela Lugosi and even 13 years after Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein which had a vampire in it.
The Hanleys were the Collins family lawyers going back at least to the 1840 storyline as well. The name of the firm was "Something" and Hanley, though I forgot that first name
Telekenesis choke hold that's very new wave, Witches that are bad end up bad but good witches stay even though we all want Angelique Collins laughter on occasion 😎 love and kisses Ms Parker I saw you after school every day
I like her revenge on Nicholas Blaire how mean n cruel n evil he was to Angelique. Now she's the powerful one and controls him even though he is a different character in this episode.
I think everyone would agree with me when I say without Ms Lara Parker playing Angelique Dark Shadows would be an ordinary show she makes it OUTSTANDING!!
The Tazzman Well we got a look somewhat when Humbert Astredo played the similar Charles Dawson in the 1840 storyline. Unlike here, Dawson and the Quentin Collins of that era were not friends.
All the characters on Dark Shadows play different characters except for three of them and those three played the same character at all different times one was Barnabas Collins and then Quentin Collins and Angelique Collins their names never change they play the same characters Through The Dark Shadows years
You forgot that in 1841 Parallel-Time Jonathan Frid and Lara Parker did play different characters: Bramwell Collins and Catherine Herridge Collins. Also, in 1970 PT Lara portrayed that world's Angelique and her twin sister Alexis.
@@LordZontar That is exactly what I was talking about when I was describing how Dark Shadows actually ended. I’m happy that I was correct about his name being Bramwell, except that I spelled his name wrong. I had Katherine correct only I had forgotten her last name. Also Kate Smith played Katherine’s younger sister, Daphnie. Seems that Kate Smith had alway played a character with the name of Daphnie (sp).
I can't believe they haven't revived this show. Not a satire, like the Johnny Depp film. Not a remake. But a sequel taking up where the old series left off. It could be marvelous.
Do you mean a sequel to the end of the original series? If I recall correctly, it ended with Barnabas (or whatever character he was playing) finally coming to terms with the fact that regardless of her actions Angelique (or whoever it was) loved him - no matter how he despised her. And he returned her feelings. That seemed to have pretty much ended the series.
@@tenhirankei Actually it ended with Lara Parker playing Katherine, who loved the character played by Jonathan Fridd. He was a cousin to the Collins and not quite as rich. She was engaged to the eldest Collins brother named, who’s name escapes me at the moment. Had dark hair. Anyway Katherine realized that she was truly in love with the cousin played by Jonathan Fridd. Actually I think his name was Bromwell! Long story short the eldest brother ended up dying in a fight with Bromwell, after he and Katherine successfully stayed in the cursed room, without dying! They ended the series by saying how the love between Katherine and Bromwell had become a legend. The brought the series to modern times, and ended with Carolyn coming in after having been attacked, and Barnabas looking extremely guilty.
Lara Parker was so gorgeous, and such a good actress. Angelique had the power to make men do what she wanted, and she sure had Quentin interested in her! Thayer David looked good with all that hair! He must have had fun portraying different characters on Dark Shadows! TFS! ~Janet in Canada
A marvelous show, some great talent and entertaining stories, a rarity for gothic horror as a „soap series“, though that title is unworthy of this classic 😊😊
I have a slight attraction to bad girls, but Angelique is beyond bad she's evil and dangerous with powers, she's the one that made Barnabas what he is , I said in my last comment ,Angelique is too beautiful to be so evil but I guest that's the idea you got to have a least one bad girl in the show and why not a beautiful one and Angelique was well cast with Laura Parker, she's the best.
My dearest Angelic; Your a classic, love you the most. What exactly did you say? "If you wanted to avoid trouble, you should have never summoned me." What a sarcastic laugh after that..
Since I'd missed the first three years of the show, this scene was the first time that I ever saw Angelique. What an interesting character! RIP Lara Parker.. BTW, because the show was essentially done live, while Evan Hanley asks who are you, you can hear Lara Parker running on to the set from where they did the face in the fire effect.
Since she was originally there in the time, I wonder if the original problem had to do with laura Collins, but Barnabas got there first. And Evan Hanley become Nicholas Blair, his powers got stronger so he could help her later on in our time, 1968.
There was episodes where they would try to communicate with the dead so they would gather around a table and the table had 3 rectangular black squares like 1 inch by 8 inches each person would sit ,wish you would bring a scene like that ,big fan born in 1960 was there every 3,4 o’clock sho ,well almost but last minutes of Friday were the best than having to wait till Monday’s show ,have you done more than one about man turning into ware wolf??
Welcome back Angelique although Evan and Quentin's original intent was not to summon her they and others will eventually find she is needed to battle other evil forces.
