So much fun, with Jonathan having fun with his famous persona. I remember pledging a good chunk of change to New Jersey Network..even though I lived in California. Those were the days. I think Jonathan would be so pleased to see DARK SHADOWS is still going strong--almost 50 years on. Thanks for sharing these promos, Collinsport1966.

Boy, did we EVER! He had the whole package - not just his looks but that deep, cultured voice, and his aristocratic, "regal" bearing of times long gone. His look is handsome AND timeless. :-)

This brings back so many memories of growing up in NJ and watching the re-runs with my mother on NJN. I recently rewatched the entire show with hubby on Amazon Prime and Tubi.
I remember watching Dark Shadows at 6:30 PM on New Jersey from about 1983 to 1986. Prior to this, on TV-48 for about a year in 1976-1977 at 11:30 PM I believe after Mary Hartman Mary Hartman. So disappointed when at the conclusion of one episode on a Friday evening Channel 48 in Philadelphia stated that this was the last episode that they would be airing. Of course, no way to research subsequent episodes in the 1970's.
The promo with Johnny Frid in the cardigan sweater, hiding the T-shirt; whthought that such a semmingly staid, crusty Shakespearean actor would wear one. The type of dramatic "surprise" one would expect, or not!
Plus I loved the little wink he did there at the end of that segment, about how "no well-dressed fan would be caught dead in anything else." SQUEEE!! ;-) Oh, lawdy was he SEXY! But oh, so talented, too. RIP with Love, dear Jonathan.
Imagine JF having a conversation with Carl Sagan, they kind of sound alike & similar cadence though Satan would take a bit longer to say something than Jon.... 😀
