The darkest side to me is when a Filipina says her family will come before her husband. I’m not going to play second to anyone. Nor am I going to support a colony of people who don’t provide for themselves. My entire family is self-sufficient. I refuse to have my sustenance drained by people who should take care of themselves. I worked hard and invested wisely. They are on their own, including her parents who are likely younger than me. Probably a Filipina is not a good choice for me. I was in poverty and a single parent of two. I worked hard to get out with no help from anyone. So can they.

I don't think this is exclusively a Filipina thing. It doesn't matter where you go in the world, there are always bad actors who will try to take the money you've spent years trying to grow.
A new American expat friend was recently talking about his Filipina wife of ten years. He found out she is a cheater. He also told me about her unbridled greed and habit of pawning items he has bought. I don't think she represents all filipinas. But clearly, they' are not all little angels in the Philippines. Corruption and desperation can make a Filipina do things expats don't see coming. Does that mean avoid Filipinas? No. I think filipinas are still a better option over Western women. And there are bad apples everywhere in the world.
