No. The first room is Velstadt and the room after that is where Vendrick is. So their arenas are adjacent. But you shouldn't fight Vendrick unless you get enough giant souls.

@@babbisp1 but I did finish off Vendrick after collecting all giant souls, I don't remember ever fighting Velstadt 🙃

@@fantacgifx5791 You can't fight Vendrick without first Velstadt. So either you just forgot about fighting Velstadt, or someone else fought him on your savefile. If it's a glitch, then it's not one I ever heard of.
