Dark souls 3 is the best in the entire series. My subjective favorite is dark souls 1 because it feels so warm and comfortable. Sekiro and bloodborne could also be regarded as the best as well. Their combat is downright immaculate. However dark souls 3 does everything to such a high degree. Everything that made people fall in love with dark souls excluding the interconnected world. Is done to such a high degree of quality that I sometimes am amazed this game came out 8 years ago. Everything is incredible the boss fights are a stunning achievement not only in game design but in concept and storytelling. The catalog of weapons is the best it ever has been, and you have the best array of bosses in the series to try them out on. So many iconic armors weapons npc’s and the throwback in the final fight has made grown men shed tears.
The only criticism I will give dark souls 3 is that we haven’t got another interconnected world since dark souls 1. That is less of a complaint with its sequel and more of a testament to how well designed the original was. However it’s made up for by the sheer depth to every boss encounter. Once you reach the middle game every single fight feels like a dark souls 1 dlc boss in terms of difficulty.
