I have no clue what drugs Miyazaki was on the day he came up with the idea of "Let's make a weapon that has hyper armor, paired weapon properties, a projectile, and phantom hitboxes that would make Smash 4 Ike proud."
I don't think they've given the series any greater thought for a while now, not just the Ringed City. And if you're talking about player input I'm pretty sure they just flat out never gave a damn.

Crazy that even radahn's twin greatswords aren't as absurd as this monster. Then again, everyone would probably spam jump heavy if they could in ds3 like they can now.
the doors are actually a pretty good counter to the twin gs especially if you have "poise" ps when i found out that the wolf ring +3 added 4 poise i was so mad
SALT It adds by a sort of percentage. Pretty much, the more poise you have, the less poise things give you. So heavy armor + wolf ring is ineffective, but lighter armor gets more out of it.

My point was just that this weapon's power is grossly exaggerated in general, much like how the Farron greatsword was at launch. If anything, the new katana is more questionable in balance, and even then it's pretty telegraphed.
How does it invalidate my statement? I said most players are garbage, you're just proving it further. On that note, take people by surprise with the mallet.
The first time i watched an Iron Pineapple video, you introduced me to Lettuce. In the latest iron pineapple video i watch, you have a rocknrollish jazzy Justice remix. As i'm commenting, the next video auto plays and starts out with parlament and funkadelic. You're like a hero in my eyes.
and pressing the dodge button, using a fast weapon for quick hits and running out, outspacing with spears or the longer halberds, punishing with hyperarmor attacks, yada yada
they don't really have to nerf it to much damage-wise if at all. They can easily just reduce the hyper-armour frames slightly, fix phantom range, or fix the wierd stun that does no damage but locks you in on the first L1. Or some kind of combination of those. I prefer the 3rd idea, makes the user have to be slightly more clever about going straight into the L1 combo.
Demon's Scar is paper. Giant Door Shield has pretty bad fire defense, and of course these swords are going to destroy anyone using something that isn't these swords.
Timothy E. Although the Scar does let you do some pyromancy with it which would probably be great for outranging people trying to use the swords. (Can't speak for it, never used it)
