Your troubles in the early game comes from using the Drake Sword. That thing is a trap weapon that seems like a good thing, but quickly ends up gimping your damage and progression

As someone who has played this game a lot, seeing him not two hand his weapon especially on quelaag hurt my soul more than anything else in this run lol (even the mid rolling). Good job and excited for bloodbourne! Oh yeah i forgot, my favorite souls bourne game is probably this one but ds3 is quite close and both have their strengths and weaknesses

helpful tip for anyone else that wants to platinum this game: use 10 humanities and you'll have a huge buff to drop rates however the buff does not continue beyond 10, if you die while grinding go back to your bloodstain and upon picking it up you'll get your humanity back. I can't remember if being human adds to this or not but it doesn't really matter seeing as how the game likes to throw humanity your way, plus the more liquid humanity you have activated (that is what the number beside your health and stamina bar's represents) the higher your defenses will be, they wanted to encourage a risk vs reward style of gameplay however the way this mechanic works is so poorly explained or there is very little to absolutely zero explanation in game that very few people ever actually realize that this is potentially the most helpful mechanic in the entire game for quite a few of the achievements. I could not bring myself to force myself through the sheer frustration that is the end game of DS1, it is so unenjoyable & the people I spoke with online were so overly defensive about me not loving every part of this game that I just gave up but everything up to and including anor londo was great fun, just a shame that the people that are still active on the forums for this game can be so... unpleasant. p.s. the drake sword is awful, the stat requirements are way too high and the damage fall off (as displayed less than 15 minutes into the video) is crazy, for any necomers that watch this and are interested in playing, you're better off buying all the stuff you want/need off the undead merchant in the burg then killing him and taking his katana, hitting the lower undead burg, open the shortcut & buying a shitload of moss off of the other merchant while also opening up a shortcut back to firelink before going to blighttown. if the game feels like it is all of a sudden a lot more difficult than it was in the last area chances are you missed a secondary "optional" area. my biggest gripe with this game is that the optional areas aren't really all that optional, like yeah you can still beat the game without ever going to the depths but not being able to level a weapon beyond +5 for the entire game is such a massive handicap. needing two different embers to fully upgrade weapons was such a weird decision, one of them being in arguably the worst area late into the game was hilarious but for all the wrong reasons.

Great video, Jazzy! Gotta say my favorite Souls/Borne game is Sekiro. It's one of my most proudest 100% competition/achievements I went for in a FromSoft game. It's got a steep learning curve, but the combat, in my opinion, is the best FromSoft's ever done. The game is an absolute masterpiece! I highly recommend giving it a try once you complete Bloodborne. Keep up the amazing content!

Honestly, after having 100% Elden Ring, this game is painful for me. It feels old/janky and checkpoints can be unforgiving. I think the open world format is just preferable to me over this style game. In Elden Ring (my first Soulsborne game) I was able to grind easy bosses before hard ones, but with this game if you get stuck, you really just gotta get good. Can’t wait for Jazzy to get those Elden Ring achievements. It was one of my best gaming experiences of all time.

Almost forgot my traditional request for Neir: Automata... and honestly doing the soulsbourne games, you're going to get getting a bit of a peak into what Neir: Automata will be like... mostly... kinda... except the parts that are completely different and use different viewpoints and combat styles because... yeah... it's complicated XD.

Can't wait to see this man do Elden Ring talking about doing 3 runs through Dark Souls. I platinumed ER, and that took me and my buddy like 100+ hrs and like 7 or 8 separate runs of ng+. It was a mountain of a task but one I am proud to have done. Souls series, in general, is just superb for achievements cause it really makes you feel like you earn them. Keep up the work Jazzy! And dont you dare go hollow.....

I just watched Optimistic's grind before watching this not knowing this was coming, deadly stuff!

Listen, I know that you're not a Souls-like games fan (yet?) but... have you ever discovered that dodgerolls has i-frames? Like, I watch you try to dodge but mostly you do it either too early or too late. In my (also painful) experience learning how to dodge in time saves a lot of tries and nerves against most of bosses. Or at least block with a shield. (Experience was painful in a good way, after dying so many times defeating bosses and conqering the challenges felt euphoric. So I do hope to see you try another DSs) (and also, getting all the weapons achievement was an ACTUAL pain especially that freaking Trident)

I don't think the achievements/trophies is that difficult really. I got the platinum trophy on the original PS3 version many years ago, last year I got 100% Steam achievements on DS remastered and Dark Souls 3 as well. Getting 100% achievements was a much bigger pain in DS3 than it was in DSR because of one word... rings!

You should look into the sinking city

The only downside of this video? No Artorias of the Abyss DLC thus you didn't get the fight that for me cemented my absolute love for these games. Knight Artorias. I don't fully understand why, but for me fighting and then eventually defeating Knight Artorias was such a culmination of story, difficulty, skill, and perseverance... the first time defeating him was such a rush my hands where shaking. Although no-where near as much as when I finally defeated Manus for the first time. Also, juuust in case you didn't know there's a way to make the Sif boss fight an even bigger emotional blow. During the DLC you're able to save Sif in the past, if you do this *before* fighting him in the main game the intro cutscene changes with Sif recognizing you and letting off a mournful howl at needing to fight his savoir to honor his fallen master.

Cool vid.. But bro if yu had this much Trouble with DS.. Trust me. Yu will be in a hell of Pain with Bloodborne. Its the Fastest Souls and most agressive too so i advice for yu to Skip Shield and be a Beast with Parry time. Btw.. Bloodborne is the Best Souls.. sorry for the Elden Ring fans but that game is just to easy.

two fun facts, you CAN permanently kill skeletons without a holy weapon if you hit their 'corpse' (and for some skeletons kill specific 'summoners' that revive them first too), and gwyn's hallway isn't actually endless which makes it far easier when you run its length to kill him!

Might be a silly question but why not use the summons for bosses when struggling? Even if I’m overleveled I can’t NOT summon my main man Solaire and there’s something so nice about having someone else draw aggro/attack from behind while you hold aggro

I don't get why you didn't use any magic because in all honesty sorceries are overpowered in Dark Souls, in the Ornstein and Smough boss fight you can use Soul Spear to easily get past the first stage and I should know since that was my playthrough. So just seeing you randomly get all spells just for the sake of achievements without using any just physically hurts me.

If the achievement is guaranteed in the first 5 minutes of the game or is essentially a story milestone achievement (like the first bonfire lit) then I think it's a little too obvious that you'll pick that. I love your content but I'd like to see you put a little more effort into the "easiest achievements" they should still be achievements that aren't tied to the core campaign experience. Like the hardest covenant to join for example! I love your videos please keep it up! Just noticed your easiest achievements have essentially always been the very first "free" achievement given out and it's just too predictable for an actual answer Other than that you're awesome bro!!

Blighttown....I'm going to piss off a LOT of people...I play as a mage, so it wasn't as much of a headache to me. The Capra Demon I needed to get down to the Gaping Dragon on the other hand...I wanted to learn other languages just to have more profanity to throw.

To be Honest DS1 makes the bosses too easy for you if you just summon Solaire when he can be. He carried me through my 1st playthrough until I got good. I would never be able to do what you're doing. Good job man.

Weakling. Im curently doing achives from all from soft games aviable on steam. Yeah, all. DS prepare to die, remaster og ds2, ds2 scholar of the first sin, ds3 sekiro, elden ring and armored core 6.

not sure if on PS the achievements are different but on steam they are kinda easy tbh, most of em are just play the game and discover like get to know all covenants, get a weapon from every class/ every way to upgrade like raw/divine/chaos to max lvl

When I first tried a soulslike I started with Dark Souls 3 and proceeded to take several hours just to kill the first boss which i heard was one of the easier ones. I finally beat him but i didn't go very far past that because that made me realize I'd much rather watch someone play them like this than do it myself lmao

Please show a list of all the weapons needed for the knights honour achievement it would be very nice

No wonder you were struggling you were over equipped causing you to slow roll and as such have less I-frames. highly recommend for future games to keep an eye on your equipment weight I frames are far more powerful than the Defense armour can give you.

When you entered the catacombs, it may have been a better idea to kill Pinwheel after Ornstein and Smough, just makes getting back easier.

8:00 It didn't kill you, because you weren't in the middle of an attack. You take extra damage when they clip you while you attack.

DS1 achivement that require you to do NG+3 was probably the wildest decision ever made but it taught me how to calm my emotions which is honestly the best thing that could ever happen in my life. Seeing man mid rolling the entire game as well as commit small mistakes was painful but the fact you completed the game nonthelless, you did a great job.

If I remember correctly, if you kill Priscilla too quickly, you can get trapped inside the painted world

36:50 excuse me! what are you doing theres a bonfire right inside that place its the first door to your left when you first enter from the balcony side entrance I mean your criticism is still valid but man use the proper clip to show it off like the run back to the seath fight ornsteing and smough have one of the closest bonfires in the entire gane

As a Dark Souls 1 veteran, I always prioritised maximising Endurance, because it increases Stamina AND Equip load, meaning that you can carry more heavy equipment, while not fat rolling, because it's extremely ineffective. Wish I've been on stream to let you know 😂 anyways, mad props for beating this beast, you poses a will few of us have :D

If you played a soulsborne game before it will be soo easy cuz you will be familiar with the game mechanics

I've gotten the 100% for DSR myself, the only other game that I've gotten that for is Elden Ring fittingly enough. Good luck with Dark Souls 2, while I'm 1 achievement away for DS3 and Sekiro, DS2 I'm not sure when that'll happen considering I have to put up with the pure bullshit that is getting to fight Darklurker. DS2 is a great game, but its a complete mess with some questionable design choices. Dark Souls 3 shouldn't be too bad, however getting the Covenant rewards (Darkmoon Blade in particular) in many cases WILL be a tedious grind. The O&S runback isn't that bad, you just picked the wrong Bonfire to use. The one where you encounter Solare is much better, plus there's a small skip on the staircase that is easy to pull off. The Four Kings, yeah that one is bad, however O&S was just a case of you picking the wrong Bonfire.
