@@redfrojoe2602 s- happens every time man. Happens with boss battles in general too. First try, I get them to the last 10% of their health. Every subsequent try, barely get to their second phase

I think it might have been on a certain path so skipping certain bosses bugged it to he'll I played the mod and my max level was capped at 10 but I fought gaping dragon

Aggy's mod bugged out. If you check Distortion2's run, by the end he has +10 damage, 10 max levels and 5 heals, which is working as intended. Maybe when Aggy didn't fight Gaping Dragon it bugged out or something

This goes for most who play a game for the sole purpose of going as fast as possible: the answer is probably has not done a normal play through in at least a few months to years. Personally did risk of rain speed runs for the first game and I cannot touch that game without wanting to just break the ever living get go out of the game: I am talking instant death lasers in about 4 for an entire run and clipping in an out of wall from sheer movement speed. Eventually things just become habit with this stuff.

@@CatTechSupport This happened to me with Dark Souls 3, but not on purpose. I beat the game once casually and when I replayed it I started speedrunning all the bosses unintentionally. My brain was just like “Speedrun, now.” It’s happened to me with other games too, Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic Adventure, Megaman Zero 3, Bloodborne, Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Dread are games I can’t go back too without trying to speedrun. I have not been able to not speed through any of these games since I first played them, please help me regain the knowledge of how to casually run them.

@@ysbot7448 I lol ed for real, I was being snarky, Gwyndolin does a rain of arrows as well as the magic flurries. It was a, "why say DS3" when that's something ripped from the relevant game.

Skipping optional bosses seems to of been the trigger to not reach max level. Level 10, +10 damage, 5 heals seems to be the reward for taking down the bosses in the VOD & Gaping Dragon, Priscilla, Gwendolyn, Sanctuary Guardian, Artorias, Kalameet, & Manus. 7 bosses left alive & missing 7 bonuses.

He would have dropped an item that let you keep levels when resting

@@Doppable seems pretty clear. He knows the game but clearly doesn't play it too much - just forgetting some easily forgettable stuff that someone who plays it with any kind of regularity would know. Small things that happen a few times, like trying the door after Asylum Demon, recalling that you have to face your model to aim firebombs like in BoC, or asking chat clarifying questions on things or where to go for certain things. He says "ohh I forgot" a number of times in this run, where he definitely knows the game but just doesn't have the info immediately available in his mind - like remembering that Four Kings is a dps check etc.

I felt the same way. It's not even that he was dodging at the wrong time, he's just dodging in the most back-assward way. Like, if a laser is coming from your left, what possesses you to roll to the right? Repeatedly?? Roll through the beam, dude.

Indeed. Just hang at the back wall (the side the entering fog gate is at) and diagonally roll in or through it. Either that or mid/fat roll the entire fight and roll to the side. I hate fat rolling but that's the easiest option here. There you go, hitless fight tips.

Honestly, he's done several boss only and randomizer runs, and sometimes they'll just hang out there t-posing while he fights whatever is in Taurus Demon's spot. Maybe he just forgot for runs like this where enemies are normal?

it's fun in theory, but the mod doesn't really work that great lol. wish someone would make a better version of it cause the concept is great

@@LilAggy A bit late of a reply, but a large part of your issue is that you were skipping around the boss order when the mod expects you to follow a relatively normal progression. I think you ended up breaking something by doing stuff like skipping Gapping and whatnot.

You would be surprised but Taurus Demons feet do have active hit boxes that can cause damage, a small amount it is almost unnoticeable but in a run where ANY is noticeable you will notice the feet dealing like 3 damage.
