Dark Wood Tarot Unboxing and Flip Through 

i love this deck so much! as hard as shadow work is, it feels so liberating to confront the truth, and be able to look it in the eye and not be afraid of it. this deck did such a good job of showing us darkness without fear. and the symbolism leaves a lot of room for depth and personal interpretation. they’re amazing to read.

I just bought the this deck this weekend. I love the art style. Reminds me of 80s animation. I only have five total decks but this is my favorite over mystical moments.

When I first saw this deck, without reading information on it, my first thought was that this would be a great shadow work deck. Glad I was right XD Thank you for this review, I'm definitely getting this for shadow work.

The artwork reminds me of Netflix's Castlevania! I felt a pull as soon as I saw pictures of it on Pinterest and bought it :) Waiting for it to be delivered now

Thank you for the amazing walkthrough. I LOVE the artstyle of Don Bluth, and I see what you mean: This is so similar. Some of the images (especially King of Wands) also reminds me of Disney's Mulan! I need this for shadow work. My inner child needs healing :)

I really want to get this deck, but I already have a shadow deck to work with so I'm trying to come up with another use for this one to give me the excuse to buy it...I'll think of something. Anastasia is a Sony animation studio movie btw, Disney has enough! lol Its the same artist who made the "nightmare before Christmas" tarot deck also I think, she's amazing!

Yes, Anastacia, and Thumbelina as well were Don Bluth's production's. The old studio by Don Bluth was formed by ex-Disney animators. And you're not wrong, Don Bluth created his own studio because he wanted to create stories for children that challenged children's views on morals on what was good and bad. Which is honourable! Psychology tells us that we must challenge (to some degree, not to the extreme) our kid's views on the world. And doing so with storytelling is absolutely beautiful. Be it thru movies, books, a conversation... Amazing. But there's a note to Anastacia and Thumbelina, because from what I read (someone tell me if I am wrong), those movies where created to mirror princess-style Disney movies, and I think they were done when Bluth's studio was not doing well financially. I LOVE Anastacia tho, love the villain and the setting. Def a darker movie. The Swan Princess is from another director and studio, I believe.

I ordered this and it's coming tomorrow. I'm glad I watched your walkthrough, and I'm happy about the similarity to Disney :) Because I almost cancelled my order a few hours after placing it. I thought, oh, what is this? It's a woman in high heels? But the parts of the guidebook you read sounded excellent. And it seems to have the quality of being non-threatening, similar to Shadowland, which I really enjoy. Oh, I just love tarot! :)

Anastasia was absolutely a Don Bluth animation and I'm glad you said this because while I definitely see the Disney influence, Larson's angles or the way she suffuses her characters' cheeks with color feels more like Bluth to me too! It's actually funny, I instantly recognized Abigail Larson's style because she did a lot of Harry Potter fanart back in the heydey of that fandom so this was an unexpected blast from my adolescent past.

I adore the non-Disney animated films, too. Odette is my Patronus (according to Pottermore!). 🦢💦💙

WHOA!!! ABIGAIL LARSON?! So crazy! I didn't know about this deck but I have been binge watching your reviews of decks lately and when you opened it up, I thought, wow, the art looks so familiar like an artist's I used to admire and follow. And you mentioned Abigail Larson and I realized it was her! I had been following her on DeviantArt during my high school / college days, about 9 to 10 years ago ... and it's insane seeing her art now, and for a tarot deck!!! Her art style seems to have evolved though, the lines are cleaner and lighter than the ones I remember. Very beautiful though. Thank you for sharing this! Gives me nostalgia.

I've been debating whether or not to get this deck. Until you read the very first page about Luke and Yoda. Luke has been connecting with me for the past few months and when you read that part from ESB I threw up my hands "Okay! Okay! I hear you! I'm getting the deck!" BAM!

I'm definitely buying this, omg! Lol I'm going to be so broke with all the decks I keep adding to my buy list 😂😂 First off, I have to say the box is so beautiful! This can make such a great gift. Secondly, that book looks super detailed and thick! I love a good thick book! But I have a question, how do the pages feel on the book? Because they all have that glossy finish instead of regular paper, so I was curious to how they feel. Thirdly, I love the artwork. Very dark fairytale-esque. I agree with the borders but then again, I've never minded borders to begin with. Some of the cards reminds me of the movies you mentioned but also Hercules (Hades), Sleeping Beauty, and the Sword in the Stone. But overall, I love the artwork so much.

the guidebook referring to karma as a form of "magic" is kind of weird to me, tbh. it's a religious concept from hinduism and buddhism? idk

But NOT $31.99 PLUS Love it! NOPE NOPE NOPE. I was looking for reviews on this deck AFTER I got mine in the mail yesterday. But I only paid $9.54 for mine Tax and all and I didn't have to preorder and wait on it for however long LOL I just had to wait around 2 and a half weeks for it to be shipped from China lol and if you haven't guess already, Yep. It's a China Knock Off Deck. Cards way smaller, way thinner. Images duller looking as I look to download my "PDF" Guidebook LOL That $31.99 Plus would have bought me at least 3 different Knock Off Decks 😀

Interesting review but I honestly didn’t get a good energy from the deck(for me and my intuition) but however I can see this deck be for shadow workers/users. I enjoy more of tarot/oracle cards that give off a light energy(which again it’s what resonates with my intuition). But still an interesting deck but not something I will use on a daily basis.

Hi I'm quite curious about why people think this deck is good for "shadow work"? The gray tone of the deck seems to trigger some kind of gloomy emotion, which......doesn't seem to be very helpful for someone who's attepmt is to acknowledge, accept, love, and embrace the "dark sides" of oneself, isn't it? Sure if people think that gray tone actually generates a calm and peaceful vibe then that's another story. I love the artwork, the theme, and even the branch-style frame, but that gray tone......mmm

is shadow work evil? or is this deck evil magic I only want to work with good type of magic but i'm attracted to this deck because of the art work

Why do they make the box so full on... I have too many decks to bother keeping the boxes, so that's going in the recycling anyway, and I'm sure I'm not alone. A smaller box on the inside would make so much more sense.
