This was my favorite scene throughout the entire film. It really pulled the whole narrative together.

That scene was complete fiction and ruined what little the movie had going.

Nah. Even if it wasn't historically accurate, it definitely cemented his character. Whatever his flaws, he was humanized in his interaction with others. Definitely one of the strongest connecting points for the audience. Gave more dimension to the character's motivations.

I’m still in amazement of the prosthetics of Gary Oldman into Churchill- phenomenal!

That video brought me back around 55 years ago when I was in high school and an avid reader about Winston Churchill. When Churchill was young, he was called a "young man in a hurry" and was later called an "old man in a hurry." The photos of him walking with his cane showed that his walk was a controlled fall common to young men walking fast; and he was clearly swinging his cane to keep a steady pace. Today, at the age of 71, that's the way I walk with my walking stick or umbrella, and my wife thinks it's unbecoming.

The tube scene in The Darkest Hour was there purely to push a subtle race agenda into a British historical war time film. The film insinuates the black man is with the white woman by a touch of the knee. He is in every scene carefully placed scene over Churchill's shoulder. In one scene they have him moving seats so Churchill can sit down, yet they remind the viewer whos seat Churchill is sitting in by keeping the black actors hand in the frame on the back off the seat. The film shoots to the black actor saying "He'll (Hitler) will never take Piccadilly" when the whole carriage is shouting "never surrender". Then he is finishing Churchills quotes for him. Its laughable. Completely ruins the scene, and all because they would not of got the license for the film if they didnt have a black actor in a prominent scene. The propaganda is too much. The only people who dont see it as such are the boomer generation or those in a far left wing dominated industry.

I completely agree. I know this black actor and race mixing agenda was forced into the movie at the behest of someone. If you have a source on the movie's licensing being at jeopardy without casting a black actor please let me know. I DO NOT find this hard to believe at all. I just learned about "inclusion riders" today. www.cnbc.com/2018/03/05/frances-mcdormand-encourages-actors-to-push-for-inclusion-riders.html "An inclusion rider is a clause in an actor's contract that requires that the cast and crew reflect the demographics of the world today. For instance, a typical inclusion rider would require that a cast be 50 women, 40 percent people of color, 5 percent L.G.B.T.Q., and 20 percent disabled."

Well if you didn't find an old PM being able to easily evade his security ridiculous! But adding a black person in the scene raised your eyebrows. It's a war drama not documentary! Chill!

Worst scene of the film. It was all “gorblimey ain’t Mr. Churchill wonderful.” Well yes he was, but this scene laid it on far too thick.
