@teobratuteodor1728 i read only half a book in, but the prologue end with the psyker unleashing the full weight of his power and basically escaping into the warp together with a mysterious entity (i believe a demon), again, i read only half way through, but the psyker chapters punctuate the book and are a very intriguing read.

You are absolutely correct. There's a million worlds in the Imperium, and it's been 11,000 years since the heresy. With how often the memes and bad 40k authors would have you believe exterminatus is called, we'd be down to 1000 planets by now. There's actually a list of known planets that were condemned to Exterminatus in the Lexicanum. It's, like... Less than 70. The Exterminatus spam is a bad meme.

The problem is that there's the KNOWLEDGE of demons. The fact that it was there was bad enough, that means that the veil between the warp and the material world was weak enough for it to happen in the first place, which could of meant that a massive ritual was taking place to pull the planet into the warp, a common thing that Chaos tries to do. But knowledge is the main thing here. The inquisition refuses to let anyone other then themselves and select individuals know of the existance of Chaos. You may remember the time that the Space Wolves fought against Inquisition, because the people of Armageddeon fought off a chaos invasion, and the Inquisition wanted to kill them all because they simply *knew* of Chaos. There's a reason why there's so many quotes about about 'Knowledge is dangerous' in 40k, because it is.... That being said, destroying an entire planet was ENTIRELY overkill and at worst the PDF/Guardsmen fighting would have been purged.

@@macshadow1150 We know that those three encountered and fought it, but the fight could have drawn attention of others who came to investigate or help out. There's nothing saying either way that their the ONLY people there or the only ones that fought it, just that they were the ones who banished it. And again, the fact that the daemon was able to manifest/take over the guy so easily shows that there's something else going on in the background.

Just a quick note, the picture at 0:19 is not of a daemon or daemonhost but rather of an individual that was suffering from the effects of a Halo device. That is a piece of xenos technology sometimes found in the halo stars that will physically mesh with whoever holds it and grant immortality, super physical abilities, and cause psychosis as well as odd desires and idosyncrasis such as the need to eat human flesh or the hatred of light. It is not related to the warp. This has been a certified 🤓 moment.

We don’t really know if it’s got a chaos element to it, there are a lot of chaos corrupted xeno species out there that get around. For all we know the halo device could be connected to that multi dimensional, chaos corrupted xeno that a certain inquisitor fought against with some space marine.

Unfortunately because there's no formal training program to become an inquisitor, such things are very realistic outcomes. What might be the grimderp is the captain of the vessel housing the inquisitor not liquidating the Inquisitor and entourage on the spot. But....the Imperium really really looks down on fraging superiors.

Three Schola is for officers and commisars and I think the sf I think called solar tempestus The inquisition is radically decentralized often waging wars internally and more byzantine than the court of the actual Byzantine emperors.

Think about how much corruption the higher ups and nobility get up to in 40K when everything is normal, now think about how much corruption that demon has spread over the decades and potentially more than a century it was in power. The Tau are unironically the best place to be a human. Tyranids will eat you, Orcs enslave you, Necrons will enslave or kill you, Eldar will kill you, Dark Eldar will make you wish they killed you, Chaos will do very unpleasant things to you, the Imperium is "the most bloody regime imaginable" but the Tau are actually pretty well off. Though the Farsight Enclaves are even better, as they're just the Tau without a rigid caste system and mind control.

There's a short story about gue'vasa (the tau language word for their human allies) fighting alongside tau and kroot against imperial guard forces (so basically imperial guard with lasguns fighting IG with pulse rifles) and after the tau won, them and the kroot slaughtered all their human allies (the gue'vasa were even happy to have helped win the battle against their own species) so really, allying with the tau is no better cause they'll do the same shit.

The most grim dark moment I remember is from the Fabius Bile books when Fabius and others arrive on Fulgrim’s personal daemon world. He uses this world to relive his entire life over and over to try and make it perfect. One of Fabius’ companions points out the mountains in the distance, which are not made of earth and stone, but from hundreds of billions of corpses from all the times Fulgrim didn’t get things 100% perfect and wiped out the population of the ENTIRE PLANET so he could try again.

It does reminds me that in the first inquisition war book, the inquisitor Draco called for an exterminatus but then he backtracked on his decision and hoped that his message didn't was sent. Only to the astratelepath to send the message anyway due to the hatred and spite she had to the world where she lived.

Reminds me of gaunt's ghosts when they're back on Sek's world. At one point a daemon prince shows up, blunting an assault and driving everyone around him insane. Yet apparently that world is fine to reclaim, a single daemon however is not.

I'd love for some story to come out about thousands of imperial worlds rebelling strictly against the inquisition because they're tired of being treated like they're guilty until proven innocent(even when they're proven innocent, the inquisition usually kills them or sends them to slave away for the rest of their life.)

Grimderp for sure. The number of habitable planets, with a breathable atmosphere no less, are surprisingly very few. The imperium only uses exterminatus in the most extreme situations. Killing a planet over a single, already dead daemon, is not one of these situations and a massive waste.

It does seem a little grimderp at first until you realize the daemon in question wore the skin of the Planetary Governor. The planet was in open rebellion agains the Imperium, headed by one of the Neverborn. There's no telling how far its corruption has spread, a sizable portion of the rebel forces throneside could become warp portals or chaos spawns in the blink of an eye and yet show no signs of Empyrean taint up until the final moment. This level of caution, while a bit overkill, does have its reasonings. No sacrifice too great, no treachery too small.
