The plugin sounds like it naturally has a little more treble/bite to it. They sound pretty similar for the most part though 🤘

They honestly sounded pretty similar. It's crazy how far technology has progressed. I remember when amplitube first came out reading about it in guitar world thinking "yeah that'll never catch on..." I don't think I could've been more wrong lol

It sounds like the pedal has a more hairy or saturated tone whilst the plugin sounds tighter and more focused or consistent imo. Love the darkglass line. Imo one of the biggest impacts on modern metal music and production is all the bassist using the darkglass products. It has made mixs as of late more toight as ola would say. And the horizen devices precision drive and the axe fx has shaped modern metal today. Love this vid Tre.

Can't go wrong with either! All depends on what you need it for I guess! I picked up the plugin this June and it's been invaluable to me!

I think the pedal handles the low end much better, almost with more "care", than the plugin. And the plugin has way more treble and fizz. But yet despite that they do still sound fairly similar. In a mix I doubt one would notice when mixed well.

Nice cool. I've had the pedal for years and every time the 50% off comes around Thanksgiving I pass, but I think I'm going for it. I'm doing a lot more studio work now and just for the ease of use, the plugin is easier. Happy to see they both are about the same! Thanks!

It's a small difference but when it comes to bass tone the small differences are actually big for me. Pedal is definitely better for me

$300 for a pedal or $100 for a almost identically sounding plugin with an extra mode for less agressive stuff and that is more convenient to use when recording? I bet the choice is obvious. Grab the pedal only if you need it for a gig, just for recording the plugin definitely has the upper hand to me.

Plugin sounds good and worth the price tag but the hardware clearly sounds better specially on the low end. Unfortunately not a detail since we are talking about bass guitar.

This is, essentially, just taking a raw format sound and blending it into a full production mix. I'm not hating on the skill involved, but It is almost "simple" for anyone who has a background in audio engineering/sampling.

Yeah this is very true, but I think the point of the video was to show that even without additional processing it could be drag and dropped into a full production and sound like a final mix. Its kind of a high praise for the pedal!

i dislike demos like these. there's natural variance in analog equipment, and cable capacitance, AD/DA conversion, etc all could be accounting for the differences heard. i'm not saying that's what it is, i'm just saying i don't know
